Liverpool 5-1 Hull City: In game and Post Match discussion
      Sep 24, 2016 01:59:56 pm

Anfield waiting for second home game

27th minute applause at Anfield today for HJC Gerry McIver

Starting XI: Karius, Clyne, Matip, Klavan, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Coutinho, Mane, Firmino

Subs: Mignolet, Moreno, Lucas, Can, Grujic, Origi, Sturridge

It confirms a start in goal for Loris Karius as Jürgen Klopp makes three changes to the side deployed in the last league outing against Chelsea last week.

There are also berths for Roberto Firmino and Ragnar Klavan, while Dejan Lovren is ruled out due to a viral infection.

Looking forward to seeing Karius get a run of games now. Nice to see competition in a position that the Reds haven't had for ages!

      Come on Reds.

We have fire power on the pitch as well as on the bench, so no complacency.

      'Lallana, Coutinho, Mane, Firmino '

Not a surprise.  Looked in good form lately.

Decent looking bench as well.  Come on redmen.

      Apologies. Just read it.

Is it me or is he always more susceptible to these sort of absences? Does get a bit annoying.

      Spoilers!

Would have prefered Firmino, Sturridge and Mane up top as I feel they look more natural together, but whatever if we get the 3 points!

We need to get motivation from everything, from a bigger and louder Anfield, supporters' feelings, Manure winning their game therefore we need to win to get in front of them again, etc

Never feel 100% confident when we don't go with a proper striker but hopefully we get the job done.

Gutted about Sturridge. This was a potential hat-trick game for him.

Judging by that photo of the shirts Lovren's illness must have come on pretty quickly today - hope it doesn't affect defensive preparations.

Can see us tearing Hull apart, they'll park the bus but it won't stop our annihilation , could be 4 or 5 but I'd settle for a 1-0, 3 pts and going above scummy fuckers.

Lovren wasn't in the team Littleface posted yesterday J.D. so hopefully it wasn't as big a surprise.

I would have preferred Sturridge to start but happy enough with the team. A clean sheet and clinical finishing is what we need today, not 50 shots from 25 yards, although if one does go in I won't complain no matter where it comes from.

These are the games we really need to be winning. If we get a goal early it could be a cricket score but if it's scoreless at half time I'm really gonna worry.

Is it wrong that I thought that was the moment that Independence Day 'jumped the shark'?

I know it's weird after all that had come before it what with aliens invading with their city sized spaceships and Will Smith punching an alien in the face.
