Nothing worse than going into the international break without a win and definitely nothing worse than losing before a United game so this one is massive to keep our momentum going. Swansea gave City a good game and bar a dodgy penalty decision, were unlucky to lose so we can expect a tough game.

                                Karius

                Clyne   Lovren  Matip   Milner

                      Wijnaldum Henderson

                 Mane       Lallana     Coutinho

                                  Firmino

Bring Lovren back into the team if fit but no need for any other changes obviously. The way we are playing at the moment it has to be a Reds win so I'm saying 3-1 with Firmino scoring first! COME ON REDMEN!!!  :kop5cf8koxp6: :kop5cf8koxp6: :kop5cf8koxp6:

Dunno why but I can see a bigger score than Hull here.

I know we've been handing out beatings but I think this might be the game where our score line actually reflects the dominance.

I mean 8 or 9 - 1 would have been a fair score line against Hull.

7 nil to the red men!

Come on man only a few weeks ago we were getting beat at Burnley. I'll take a 1-0 all day long so long as we keep up momentum for Utd

I know couple good results we're on top of the world, used to take a couple trophies to achieve that at this club. Was listening to TAW tonight they're taking about being annoyed we didn't score 7,8,9 against Hull you're thinking get a f***in grip, who are we the Harlem Globetrotters?

A win....any win will do me, keep that momentum going and collect another 3 points, the way we are playing oozing confidence throughout the whole team is wonderful to see, keeping my feet firmly on the ground and refusing to get carried away though, just enjoying watching the mighty reds sweeping all before them  ;D Keep it up lads !!

Alfie, in all honesty mate,we should not be showing no team respect, we are liverpool time to change that mentality....

Teams should be beaten like back in the day before they get of the coach...

I think Klopp is on his way to re establishing that thought process once more...

      Oh & I'm going for a 4-1 win  ;D

I think we will batter them, this time last year we had 4 goals from 6 games, this season we have 16 goals from 6 games, considering the tough opening away fixtures, that's an amazing turnaround,if we turn up and play our A game,Swansea will get battered.

Every game's a tough game until you're playing against 10 men and are 2-0 up.

And this is a tougher game than Hull and Burnley for me.

Swansea have scored 4 goals against Chelsea and Man City at home in the past few weeks - coupled with our leaky defence then you'd have to say they will get goals.  That's the main concern for me.

That 3-1 defeat against them in May should also spur the boss and players on to correct that result.

But I'm optimistic we'll get more so 3-2

Swansea is going to be a tougher opposition than Hull. No disrespect to Hull. They are a well organised side and can score and leak goals at both ends. We just have to make sure that we tighten at the back, close down the spaces in midfield and exploit their defensive weaknesses and we should come away with a win. Ain't gonna be an easy game but a close 2-1 win for the redmen.

Swansea when they're at home are a tough side. But I think we'll get a hard fought victory here. Possession-based teams don't like being pressed.

They played better, against City, than the result warranted but in saying that they lack a bit of guile in attack and if City can do it... we have to as well.

They won't be afraid to play and I fancy us by at least two clear goals to be honest.

Let's beat them like a rented mule.

Actually I tipped 2-1 to us, but anyway....

We were miserable in this fixture back in May, but 5 of the players featuring are gone from the club now, another couple injured and more down with the U23s. I remember Chirivella first and then Lucas being totally outmatched in midfield.

      Different story Saturday.

It seemed to me that City let swans play when they got the ball, and concentrated on blocking them around the box in final third.
They wont get as much time and space on the ball in the centre of the park against us. Also, when we've got the ball, we'll be at them sharper and more direct that city.
There's more as and movement in out attack.  We may concede but I'm confident we'll score at least 3.
I'm gonna go for 4:1 to us.
Need to get the prediction in now 😀

Is this the same Swansea who are currently in 17th place with 4 points with speculation about the current manager being fired? We really shouldn't be fearing these guys, this should be a fairly comfortable win, I think.

Not to be too analytical, but I wonder if it's the first time in a while where the match, or the next match, is the most important thing, the thing that is on everyone's mind. Because people have a really strong reason to believe that we are going to win that match - that we can win ANY match.

Bet the whole Swansea team sat down and watched Jürgen on telly the other night talking tactics with Carra thinking they've sussed him out !  :lmao: no chance.

Jürgen's telepathic control over our players and how they play will be far too much for Swansea to deal with on Saturday..

What I'm seeing these last few games is unstoppable....

If those same players click like they have been lately i can see no other result.

They're gonna be more worried about us for sure.

Man City turned them over good style last week, so can we..

      3-1 win

Loving the footy, loving the team spirit, loving everything at the mo, just not convinced we will keep it up against the mid table sides. Swansea will be a massive test of that. We are clearly capable of the 4-1 Ive predicted, but will we actually do it, or anything close.
I'm praying we have at last turned that corner, god knows the lads seem to have the confidence alright.
Lets hope they manage to keep the momentum going this season.

Did not realise, there was another international break after the Swansea game. Thought that we where playing Man United the following weekend. Still let's make sure of all three points on Saturday.

They were very unlucky not to get something out of the game V City last week.

Alfie, in all honesty mate,we should not be showing no team respect, we are liverpool time to change that mentality....

Teams should be beaten like back in the day before they get of the coach...

Actually, it's probably that attitude which has cost this club for the past 20 years or so. Turning up to games thinking we have won it before a ball has been kicked.

Anyway,  I think the team picks itself for this one.

                              Karius

      Clyne         Matip        Lovren          Milner

                Lallana   Hendo  Wijnaldum

            Mane        Firmino    Coutinho

But thats what we should be doing though. Going into games giving no respect to anyone and expecting to win.

Do you think the Liverpool of old, recent Mancs or current Barca teams go into matches giving people respect. NO they turn up expecting to win and pretty much always do/did.

Of course you need the mentality, players and style of play that enables you to do this but at the minute we do.

One quote from the great Bill Shankly sums up what I'm trying to say perfectly.

"Aim for the sky and you'll reach the ceiling. Aim for the ceiling and you'll stay on the floor."

We need to be going into every match expecting to win regardless of the opposition.

Don't care about the score, just want three points.

A clean sheet would be nice though!

I know what you're trying to say but I think your wording it incorrectly.

Every team deserves 'respect'. Not doing so would be very foolish. It's also an incredibly arrogant and disrespectful attitude, none of which I associate with Liverpool FC.

There is nothing wrong with expecting to win. I expect Liverpool to win every game we play and that IS something I associate with Liverpool. But you still need to respect your opposition. I think our club has been extremely guilty of turning up to games for the past twenty years thinking it was won before the game even kicked off.

I expect Liverpool to beat Swansea on Saturday and I'm extremely confident of bringing 3 points home. But to have your attitude of we are going to turn up here and beat these 7-0 is just plain wrong.

Think this could be tougher than we think. It certainly will be tougher than Burnley or Hull anyways.

These lads put up a game against City last week, and took a good result against Chelsea too. They've scored a couple of goals against both too. We're still very susceptible to conceding stupid goals as well, which we keep seeing every other week.

We should be winning this, no matter what our aspirations be - 4th place or a title challenge or anything like that. To get 4th place, you beat the bottom 10 teams home & away and Swansea are one of these teams (no offence to them!). Arsenal are the masters at that. We really should be doing similar.

Saying that, if we play the way we have being playing, I expect us to win. Hopefully to nil, but can't see that happening. So maybe a scrappy 2-1 to Penaltypool  ;)

They've been gash ever since the start of last season, mate. Guidolin has already changed system 3 times this season.

They gave Shitty a harder time than they expected Crouchy and I would have thought Guidolin will have studied our form meticulously,
I'm not thinking we're gonna struggle just being cautious,
We'll probably win without much ado but there's no guarantee of anything!!

Is this the same Swansea who are currently in 17th place with 4 points with speculation about the current manager being fired? We really shouldn't be fearing these guys, this should be a fairly comfortable win, I think.

Where did I say we are fearful mate, just being cautious, there are no easy games in the Prem, we will more than likely win without too much bother,

So 0-8 it is then    ;D

When did you become an optimist?!   :lmao:

I can't see anything but a win here.  They've had 1 decent result by taking a point against Chelsea, but other than that they have been gash -- lacking cohesion, chemistry, and confidence.  We are cutting through teams like a hot knife through butter!!  Can honestly see us posting another 4 or 5 goals this match.  I'll go for a 4-1 as we will probably ship a soft goal en route to a big win :)

Milner can cover both sides   :)

But seriously no great surprise with the old adage of why change a winning team, who incidentally are getting better by the game.

And some good options off the bench with the firepower of Sturridge and Origi, long time since we had such options off the bench!

I've went for a high score line and a clean sheet but it's at this point in a good spell of form where we usually get complacent and slip up against a team we should smash.
If we're really getting stronger mentally and as a unit then we should dominate this game. Things are getting interesting now.

It will be an interesting game, to gauge where we stand. We need to win this against a mid-table team. Don't matter how we win it, big or close, we NEED to win this and carry on the momentum.

Do what Leicester City did last season, one game at a time.

Be good if we get a decent scoreline today to increase the goal difference and City v Spurs is a draw tomorrow.

We could be right up there in second waiting to overtake City.

I think we kind of need a tough game, but to come through it. I would love to steamroll teams all season long, but the games that make champions are the ones they had no right in winning but do.

Swansea I thought were unlucky against City, and it showed the deficiencies in City's defence.

I hope we get 2-1 with Hendo and Firminho bagging goals.

Be good if we get a decent scoreline today to increase the goal difference and City v Spurs is a draw tomorrow.

We could be right up there in second waiting to overtake City.

      Oh Yes .

      Believe .

A win of any score will be ok for me,get the 3 points and the rest of the teams in the EPL will be shitting themselves.

Away from home and Swansea are capable of goals, is really one of those games where we will see how good we are.

Fancy us to come through 1-3 though with Firmino to bag a few!

Aussies - we're on SBS! Boom!

Unfortunately that means Craig Foster "analysis". But we're on TV!

Be as close to the action as me and I only live 30 odd miles from the ground .

I have watched the last few games closely and I am not in any way giving particular attention to Sturridge but somehow noticed his contribution. I'm being honest to say I am not dissapointed at all with Sturridge's performance but somewhat satisfied. Ok, I may be torched by some here, level of expectations differs among supporter, but I am just giving a fair assessment.

Ok, he did not blaze the pitch in those minutes he was on the pitch but he has taken away defenders with him and allowed others to run into space to score, not forgetting some beautiful moves and assists that led to goals scored by others.

Put it this way, there is nothing to say that he needs to score in every game but if he can come up with some vital assists that led to goals, who is to complain and he can continue to do that. Let's not look at why isn't he scoring in every game but more importantly what was his contribution on the pitch. We now have a bunch of players that can score goals.

Hope that Klopp is not hammering Sturridge for the lack of goals but provide much encouragement instead. Stur is fragile physically we all know that and to a certain extend mentally, so he will be pretty much upset and sulks when he doesn't score with the thought that he had a bad game, the opposite is true so far. So much encouragement from Klopp will help a long way and I suspect Strurridge thrives on encouragement.

Hence, I hope Sturridge will keep up the good work and continue to improve as he is a vital part of the team.

Hope that Stur is in the starting 11 or coming on as a substitute.

We must be on our toes from the very first second of the the game.

This is a winnable game and we must give Swansea the respect but not fearing them.

Could be wrong but i think it is more of a "dont fix what isnt broken" scenario around Sturridge and the team. We are doing pretty well with what we have so no reason to drop anyone.

It is also great we can call on the likes of Sturridge, Origi and Can etc. off the bench if need be.

      Exactly mate.

We have legitimate strength in depth now which is something most PL teams can't say.

Our options off the bench are quality so any player changes we make in game should be relatively seamless to our style of play.
