Looking at the next 7 fixtures, Man City seems to have an easier task than others but their form has been inconsistent of late

One player isn't an excuse for their form. They've spent 40m on Sane, 50m on Sterling, 47.5m on Stones etc. etc. they shouldn't need De Bruyne alone to pick up a win.

Forget about him for a minute and look at it like this, they have as many clean sheets in the league as we do yet our defence is constantly spoken about for not being good enough and City's cost about 120m to put together.

Karius - 5m, Clyne -12m, Lovren - 20m, Matip - 0m, Milner - 0m. Our defence cost 83m less than their's did. It cost 10m less than Stones!

After 9 games, we have 20 pts - so just a bit under that 2.25 pts / game requirement. So, so far, so good. But still 29 games to go

Absolutely right. We just need to be cautious, not over confident and stay focus and not to take the next 5 or 6 opponents easily. Don't care if the next 6 games are all 1-0 in our favor, as long as we keep pace with Man City and they will slip-up at some point of time and we take full advantage of that. Inconsistency was our greatest enemy last season and we hope not to repeat that. As many has said, there are no more easy opponents anymore the PL has become more and more competitive. So, I'd expect more slip-ups by the top teams this season. We have already seen some matches taking place already.

The advantage we have too over the other teams expected to be up there is that we have already played and either beaten or drawn to Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester (if they can be counted), Chelsea and the Mancs. Apart from City, we have played all of our biggest games once round so far in terms of where we could easily have found it very tough. Have any of the other teams played more than 1 at most of a closest competitor?

We just need to make sure we keep concentration and get the win against the teams like WBA, where we have easily dropped points over recent seasons. Them games are always the must wins because you should in theory have less chance of taking 3 points off the bigger teams but we've put ourselves in a really good position so far apart from the Burnley game.

There was some talk of this around the ground last night. We don't fear anyone. We are a confident bunch right now and you can see it in our football. More importantly, the opposition fear us. Look at how the mancs lined up against us. This is a team with the worlds most expensive footballer & supposedly the worlds best manager in charge. They came and played 6 in defence and thought it was the best point in the world. Anfield is becoming a fortress again.

To be precise it was 17th January against the scum. Our current run is 12 games. In that time we've played Chelsea, Man City, Man United, Spurs, Everton & Leicester.

Scratch the second game down with another big F***ing win!

We're in F***ing cruise control as well, not even being pressured by the opposition - just by ourselves. Another three points against Watford as we keep ticking them off.

With Burnley, Middlesbrough & Hull being new to the league this year, which of Newcastle, Norwich & Aston Villa would they each replace in the comparison table?

So far from the 8 exact fixtures we've played in from 2015/16 we have 8 more points, scored 10 more goals and conceded 2 more.
