I don't care if Matip has to play in crutches, put him straight back into the team! Put Mignolet back in goal. Drop Lucas and perhaps Can who has looked off the boil lately. Coutinho and Origi in. Just don't F***ing lose!

What's the weather forecast for the weekend over there?  Just been on the caf and they're saying some games could be postponed due to snow expected Friday to Sunday.

It's Manchester, gonna be miserable and pissing down.

Back in early November I couldn't wait for this fixture to come around, we we're playing some fantastic football, banging in goals and steamrolling teams with our flair and movement.
However, our rhythm and shape has been disjointed these last few games with the loss of Coutinho and more recently Henderson and Mane.
Three players who have been the key to the way we attack the opposition and who have played a major part in why we sit second in the league.

Playing Man U away is never a good game for the Arrhythmia or the blood pressure but so long as the lads stay strong and fight for every ball I'll be happy.
For me, as proven this season Coutinho and Firmino play really well together so those two must start and it's a real shame we don't have Mane to run with them.
Lallana needs to up his game Sunday and stop trying those bloody Cruyff turns into no mans land and get himself in the box where he is more dangerous..
      Play Stewart instead of Can.
I'd be more comfortable with Matip shadowing Ibrahimovic than Lovren if i'm honest, just hope it happens..
Mignolet needs to start for me in this one.
Milner and Clyne will get the space down the wings during the game I just hope their runs and deliveries are as good as they were six weeks ago and there are bodies in the box when the ball comes over.

The majority of our wins at OT have been quick break outs and killing them with the speed of our attack then staying strong.
My earlier post of parking the bus in truth just won't work against this lot in the form they're in now, players like Pogba, Fellani, Mata, Rooney, Carrick need to be closed down in packs like we've seen from start to finish and we need to be clinical in front of goal.

We've witnessed some magical games at OT down the years and there's absolutely no reason why we won't witness another on Sunday.

I'd love us to wipe that smug tw*t of a smile off Maureens face ! ;D

I'd take a draw the way the two sides are playing.  Three points would be very significant for us but would also end their remote faint hopes of trying to catch up to Chelsea.

I think they've got more to lose at the weekend personally but that's only because I don't see us as consistent enough to win the title this year anyway.

Be interesting to see the pre-match mind-games between Mourinho and himself.

Hope that hendo and matip are fit. We need them badly.
We also need some pace on the flanks but there appears to be none within the squad now that mane is away.
Got to say that after the last two results that I am more concerned about this game than I was 2 weeks ago.
To be honest I hope for a draw but am massively fearing a loss.

Got to go with Origi on the wing to add some pace or bring back the front three of Lallana-Firmino-Coutinho that served us so well away at Chelsea and City last year.

Just get out of there with a point.

I have similar concerns about our lack of pace, especially at the back. Millie took control of Sterling, but he  has pace with little else. The mancs have pace, but with a bit more confidence on the ball than sterling. Coupled with our lack of pace up top as well, and without the industry of Hendo in the middle, think we might struggle.
That goes with the territory with a small squad.  If we bring our A game, which I'm hoping we will, we can beat these mercenary tw*ts, but although we are capable of winning in style, or scraping one nil wins, we don't seem capable of either lately. Lets hope the occasion lifts the lads into one of their better games. Don't think Maureen will park the bus this time, so we will get a bit more room to exploit their crap back 4. Here's praying, we need to keep in touch with the chavs.  Shitty, Scrappy, Nasty, Bitchy Dirty 1 :0 to us will do me !

I have a feeling the players and boss had one eye on this game hence the lack of intensity against Saints, can't imagine Jürgen would have had it any other way.

Feeling more confident as we get closer esp with most of the walking wounded back.

Bit baffled by this negativity, OK we've had 3 shitty games in a row, the first was a result of an insane Xmas schedule and the lads were knackered, the FA Cup was a bunch of kids under performing and some excellent defending from Plymouth. Fair enough the Southampton game was sh*t, no 2 ways about it, but I think the lads already had their eye and minds on the Manure game.

If Hendo starts together with Matip, plus we put Firminio back in the centre with Origi filling in for Mane on the flank then I fancy us to win this as I think they might be a bit cocky. I can't explain it but I just have a good feeling that it could be another 3-0 4-1 to us type of game.

we wont win this unless we drop someone from that midfield and either drop Lallana back in there or start Coutinho there, someone who can create from deeper. I personally would toy with the idea of 4 4 2 only I don't think we have the peope to play wide in that set up

Assuming the boss wont change and Matip and Hendo don't make it

Sounds like Hendo will start, but Matip won't (just looking at couple of articles).  We could do with the captain back for this one, hopefully he gets good training in and can be sharp enough.

Seen as this is the actual pre-match thread Keef how do you see the match panning out?
AND don't blurt on about how good you are, just about the game itself and the areas where it could be won or lost... or drawn for that matter.

Obviously hope the lads smash this lot, but,I just get a bad feeling about this one.
Just my opinion but I don't think we've played any way near the standard we were up to since that international break ,something seemed to go out of the intensity we started the season with.
Now I know we've still picked up results and played well but somthing just seemed to vanish from out play, can't put my finger on it .
So come on red men and damn my pessimism.👍
