Was that one of the worst Liverpool performances of all time?

No, it WAS the worst Liverpool performance of all time.

I'd F***ing pay for him to leave the club he's that bad.

Without doubt the most calamitous and destructive 45 minutes I've ever seen from one of our players. A horror show. Sheer and utter terror. A F***ing disgrace.

Klopp bought him on, not JWH or FSG.....

Heard he is being offered a new 5 year deal .......

The fact that he remains at the club as an established liability is nothing to do with Klopp, if he were replaced with a quality defender yesterday how much difference would that make to the manager's options?

You should put that forward to Klopp who had Kolo available on the bench.

F***ing hell, seeing some trying to blame the other central defenders on other threads. Lovren MAY have been a bit wary to concede one goal if he'd stayed on, but not three goals and a f**king penalty unlike someone else. If Sakho and Lovren are sh*t like Martin Skrtel, then how come Mignolet didn't have anything to do in the first half?

Some are trying to implicate Sakho and Lovren in this disaster - maybe because they still believe in the Cult of Martin (so credible now it makes Scientology look positively rational and intelligent) - but there's only one central defender to blame for all of this.

As FMS says, sh*t the f**king bed indeed.

At least Jürgen will learn from this defeat, Skrtel unfortunately will carry on his merry ways of spreading panic  across the back line.

You could see straight away when he came on we dropped 10 yards further back inviting pressure, Skrtel unfortunately is on his own wavelength which for too long has been tolerated, hopefully this summer it will eventually be sorted.

Pretty much the reaction if we see him going onto the pitch from now on.

You'd think so, but being at the club for 8 years, he's clinging on stubbornly like an STD.

I will celebrate the day he leaves us.

I just find the vitriol for some of our players astounding. He didn'the have a good game, arguably he isn't good enough for us, but seriously some of the criticism is akin to him being a rapist or something.

I've never hated one of our own players to that extent. Not rated, yes. Hated? No. And particularly not a good honest pro who I sincerely hope would get a fantastic reaction whenever he returned to Anfield.

Klopp brought him on. He sees him in training etc etc. After a long long layoff, was a risk. And it backfired.

Lovren and Sahko have formed a decent partnership. Toure imo would be next in line to come on if one of them injured.

What was the rational for putting Martin on?

Skrtel was bad but another 9 players need to take some blame for being out fought and not getting a grip of the game in the second half, they were already on the team bus with 3 points in the bag in their heads the way they performed.

Maybe he's been boss in training. We can speculate the reason until we are blue in the face but only Klopp can answer that one.

Think Martin's days could be numbered anywho. Imo he's now 4th choice. And Matip is coming in.
Surprised he hasn't given more penoes away over the years tbh
Might be being a bit unfair on him, writing him off today after one ropey perf, given he's coming back from a long layoff - but just think he's been out and hasn't been missed, he's has a good run at the club, and we could make a few bob selling him now as opposed to having to do an Agger in a year or two's time...

See that's it - it's not just 'one' game, it's been time and time and time again. Aside from the odd good game once in a blue moon, he's been absolutely appalling. How many chances is he going to get? If we had cut our losses on him earlier and admitted he was sh*t for the club, today might have been different.

The sad thing is, by keeping him in the Liverpool squad, this kind of performance was inevitable. At his best, he was always living off the work of better players around him. At his worst, he is one of the worst players to have ever put on a Liverpool shirt. Getting absolutely pummelled against the mighty Havant & Waterlooville in his debut has only been proven to be ominous with appalling performances even before today. I'm not even talking about ineffective average performances, but catastrophically bad. In my living memory, that was the worst individual performance I've ever seen from someone in a Liverpool shirt.

I hope he never plays another game for us ever again, primarily because he will never ever be good enough for this club, not even before today, and he certainly is beyond any redemption now.
