Martin has stated categorically that he did not stamp intentionally, it was accidental. That is enough for me and should be enough for any supporter. The alternative is, you think Martin is a liar.

For the suspension, it doesn't matter if the stamp was intentional.  Should only have been a one game ban though.

I was in fact getting at those supporters who have stated categorically on here and on national radio that it was a deliberate act. The FA and those supporters who believe it was an intentional act are in fact calling Martin a liar!

      The goalie had two choices:
1/ Stand his ground and give the advantage to prospective goal scorer.
2/ Confront the player and attempt to get a hand to the ball by any means.

'By any means' would as the desperate suggestion implies, attempt to physically restrict Skrtel - putting his body between the player and the ball is all he could, with the associated risks.
Skrtel's impetus made contact unavoidable therefore the word 'stamp' is literally faulted and by association an incorrect refereeing decision.
Is it any wonder Martin won't hold his hand up?

And so what if they have, it's only  an opinion.  I certainly don't believe all our players are bastions of virtue, nor do they need to be.

There is no way that was a stamp, I agree. His momentum was there and the goalie looked for another red against us.

de gea and jones played their roles as manc pieces of sh*t brilliantly with that challenge. Skrtel was just sprinting after a through ball.

Geez, our defence was a shambles without this fella.

Does he miss the Blackburn game as part of the 3 matches or is that only league games he misses?

All domestic matches mate so he misses the Blackburn game. Only positive out of that is its one less league game that he misses. If there's a vote to see who should be captain next season then mine goes to Skrtel without a doubt.

Cheers bud, now I'm really worried for the Blackburn game but like you said only one more league game so that's a bit of good news, I suppose.

Shocking that he'll have 12 months left in the summer. Surely we should've at the very least offered him a contract last summer?

Yeah if he won the Ballon d'or he'd get 200k a week otherwise he was on £6.87 an hour. Surprisingly he turned it down.

he will sign a new deal i think all the players want to focus on football then sit down at the end of the season which makes perfect sense, why would anyone sign a new deal in the middle of the season?
back to football big game Sunday back i would go for is can Skrtel, lovern,
