Can we recall Ilori? Im hearing he does quiet well, keeping Arsenal at bay at their patch the other night.

The same Ilori that can't get in Villa's team? He played for the under-21's, hardly the first team.

Jozef Adamec couldnt get into Spartak Trnava lineup. Then scored a hattrick against mighty Brazil. Hardly a measure.

Reports yesterday saying he could be out of 3 months.

I don't understand this? In Australia when our Aussie Rules or Rugby players get injured with a Hammy, it's normally 2-3 weeks on the sidelines.

It's 4-5 months if he's ripped it off the bone.

3 F***ing months for a Hammy...it's either come off the bone or he's soft as sh*t.

Big blow to lose Skrtel at this point - we're not having much luck with injuries are we?

We need Sakho to bounce back from the Watford game and get back up to speed fast.
Looks like we we'll be playing 2 CBs who are short of match sharpness against Leicester.

Surprised at Skrtel's injury. He's usually quite reliable on the fitness front.

That said, I don't ever believe our defence has been good when he has been a prominent member of it. He's often run on the coattails of the leadership and gravitas of far far better players in Agger, Carra and Big Sami. I do find it surprising that he's made it this long at the club. I genuinely believe if we are to get to the top under Klopp, Skrtel shouldn't be a part of it. He's played under Rafa, Hodgson, Kenny, Brendan and now Jürgen. Never once did I consider him essential under any of those bosses.

On the other hand, all of those bosses did consider him essential.

Jürgen will be gutted he's out.

Liverpool defender Skrtel out for six weeks
      LONDON

The centre back limped off in the first half of Liverpool's 3-0 defeat to Watford on Sunday and his absence is likely to cause further headaches for manager Juergen Klopp and his struggling side.

"I will work hard on my recovery and will do everything to come back as soon as possible and even stronger than before," Skrtel said on Instagram.

The 31-year-old has been pivotal for Liverpool this season, appearing in all their Premier League games.

His injury has come at a bad time for Klopp's side. They are in ninth place in the Premier League after taking one point from their last three league games and are already without centre back Dejan Lovren through injury.

France defender Mamadou Sakho returned to the heart of Liverpool's defence for the clash at Watford after his own lengthy injury break, but looked short of match sharpness.

A six-week absence would rule Skrtel out of league games against Leicester City, Sunderland, West Ham United, Arsenal, Manchester United and Norwich City.

He would also miss both legs of the League Cup semi-final against Stoke City and the FA Cup third round tie against Exeter City.

      Hopefully only 6 weeks mate

If he was not on my team, I would hate this guy, because he's nasty and he holds on every set piece.  But somehow, he doesn't get flagged so he might be one of my favorites on the team.  This is why Ancelloti was very smart to always play Pepe over Varane (even though Varane is much more physically and technically

Good player mostly but not great when needed
if we are to truly progress into a solid and winning team then we need to put aside sentiment and fan labeling and realize that martin, though a good and committed player for us isn't great and wouldn't  get into any of Europe's top 10 team's at the very least.
He has been a good servant with moments of majesty but i would happily sell to finally put together a strong selection of 4 CBs

recent injury for me spells the end of his LFC career due to the fact that Sakho is playing more games now, we've bought another younger better CB in Matip (in JK eyes) and KOLO has been solid in his last games there is no need to change it. Before his injury even Lovren stepped up and was starting to show some decent form so when he's back Skrtel will find it hard to get back in as right now i dont see who he replaces. This summer we should try and sell on for as much as we can but either way wish him all the luck in the world as he's been a good servant.
