Good bye, good luck, you'll always be welcome back.  A player that wore his heart on his knuckles.  Lots of memories, one of my favourites though....

Huge thanks for all you did, DAGGER - especially the goal against Chelsea in the second leg of the 2007 CL semi-final that meant extra time (a shoot-out win and another European Cup Final).

Very best wishes to you and your family for health and happiness always.

Seems crazy to let Danny go for 3mill, but the club have obviously taken his wishes into account, and felt he deserved as much after his years of service. Surprised though with the lateness of the transfer. He's injury prone etc. and probably not first choice, but when fit he'd be a good partner for Lovren.

Whatever about the pros/cons, he's leaving, so can only say all the best to Danny after his years of loyalty and service to the club. Talented player. YNWA.

Totally gutted that Danny is leaving. A total pro both on and off the pitch, still think he could do a job for us, but glad for him that he's going home.
I wish him and his family nothing but the best, and I know for certain he will always be welcome at Anfield.
I absolutely hate it when when one of our family leaves, and Danny has been a big part of our family and I for one will miss him!
All the very best Danny, and just remember YNWA.
Thanks for everything, and don't be a stranger.

      Gutted that he's gone.

Not pleased about how little we let him go for.

We move on though and he has been a great servant to the club so best of luck Dagger.

Would you be more pleased if we got £10m off Arsenal or United for him mate? I know I certainly wouldn't.

It's an interesting point Luke and one I seen you raised earlier but it didn't neccessarily have to be to either of them.

I just don't see why we always seem to almost give players away at times.

I agree with you it's cheap but I got the impression that Napoli were only sniffing around for a loan and the only other concrete interest was from Arsenal. We know that United haven't got a real CB in their entire squad at the minute so think they were the only viable options.

Knowing Dagger as we do neither of these were realistic targets and for me he earns respect because of that. I also hear we have first dibs on any Brondby talent, always thought we had a decent relationship with them anyway so don't think that will actually count for too much.

Hopefully Borini leaving for £14m might ease a bit of the pain, if it happens as I don't think this has been a good window for sales, totally agree there.

It wouldn't be fair on Agger to leave him rotting on the bench,  so a move to Bronby is the best way for him to finish his career.
Thanks for everything Daniel, A true Liverpool legend, never gave anything but his all.

I think it is that usually the players we sell are no longer playing at the level that their wages would still suggest. Like Johnson, maybe he was once worth £100k+ per week, but now ... would anyone pay him that especially on top of a large transfer fee now.

So either we have to hang on to players who are no longer worth their huge wages or sell them cheap to get them off our books. The other problem is that after a long career with Liverpool a lot of our players don't want to risk spoiling their memories with us by going to a rival club and being seen as doing an Owen or even a Torres.

We demand loyalty but only if they are good players, the rest ... well we aren't too worried about keeping them or where they go.

I wish Danny all the best and hope he enjoys the rest of his career ..... if he had gone to Chelsea, the Mancs , Spurs or Arsenal I doubt I would feel quite the same.

Good player, great servant, majestic man.
I wish him and his family much happiness and success and i so hope he is able, during his playing career to come back to Anfield and put in a fantastic performance, score a screamer, get the crowds love from all 4 sides but leave on the losing side with his head held very high.

Dagger was a true Red!  He loved the club and always showed 100% commitment.  I have great respect for the fact that he is going home to Brondby to finish his career.  Yeah, we could have gotten more money if he had gone to a bigger club, but I love him for not being a money grubbing, glory hunting asshole.  He has been a fantastic servant to the club, and one of my all time favorites to ever play for us.  I'll always remember the forearm shiver he put on Torres the first game we played Chelsea after his big move a few years back!!

      Best of luck Danny!!  YNWA
