Another century for Joe Root, gonna break a hell of a lot of records him.

Fair play to Samuels for that send off to Stokes as well :D Interesting to see what will happen in the second innings!

      I know I love Joe Root an all but his last six Test innings are just F***ing immense;

      56, 77, 149*, 83, 59, 118*

Six consecutive Test match 50s, including two hundreds. That ever been done before, globally or just for England? 8 runs short at the moment of 2,000 Test match runs with an average well over 50. Doing that in less than 25 matches is nothing short of remarkable either, especially when you think that not so long ago they were pissing about with his position in the side. Trying him all through the middle order when he first broke in, then throwing him at the top of the order for the Ashes then down to number 3 and then settling on 5.

I said it on here a few years ago about Cook and he's not far off proving me right, so I'll say it here about Root as well - Joe Root will eventually become England's leading run scorer in Test match cricket.

Gonna be a long old summer, old failings, too many dropped catches and stumpings, collapsing under pressure, cook and especially moores on borrowed time

Not even a massive KP fan but the way the whole thing has been handled along with Moores' sacking has just been absolutely disgraceful.

Strauss getting the Director job is a joke as well, far too close to the current team but I guess Vaughan and Stewart wouldn't have wanted to go near it once they found out the restrictions involved. If I were Jason Gillespie I'd stay well clear as well.

We've been totally outclassed by the Kiwis in this Test but Mark Wood has got his tail up here.

Turned it right round and now we're totally outclassing them.

      Cracking Test this.

This Latham has something about him, I reckon he could become a top quality opener for the Kiwi's.

England obsessed with bowling short, the crowd are gonna get plenty of catching practice this summer.

Really wouldn't be surprised if he eventually becomes England's leading Test run scorer. Still a few thousand runs short of Gooch at the minute though.

      Well he finally has!

Well in Ali Cook, don't care what anybody says - he's one of the world's very best

Cooks done well, wish they'd relieve him of the captaincy though and just let him concentrate on his batting. In some ways our little collapse there was a good thing, I was just beginning to delude myself that we might be able to give the Australians a proper game in the Summer. At least those three quick wickets kicked a bit of reality back in.

England's batting giving the Kiwi's slip some catching practice in this innings.

Disgraceful just how many we've edged to their slips.

On a side note, is Trent Boult the twin brother of Stewart Downing?

F***ing superb knock by Jos for Lancs in the roses t20

      69 off 33 currently

Need 3 from 3 to win

Buttler brought em back from the dead with this knock

      Edit

      Single from Jos

2 from 2 now but Liley on strike

      Edit

      Inside edge scrambled single

      Edit

Scrambled single from Jos finishes it

      Lancs win by 4 wickets

Big show Maxwell misses a chance of a run out

      Cracking game that

Whether that works long-term is debatable. So here's what I'd do long-term.

      Hales
      Roy
      Bell
      Root (c)
      Taylor
      Buttler (wk)
      Woakes
      Willey
      Rashid
      Tredwell
      Anderson.

It looks as if Bayliss is going somewhere down this route with the squad he's, helped, pick for the one day series against New Zealand. Morgan, Billings, Buttler, Finn, Hales, Jordan, Plunkett, Rashid, Root, Roy, Stokes, Taylor, Willey, Wood.

Truth be told, there's a couple in there who I'd get rid of straight away - Morgan for starters. Finn, Plunkett and Jordan have all had plenty of chances and never shown why they deserve their place. Unfortunately, at least one of those three pace men is going to be playing. Out of the three, I'd probably go Plunkett for his extra pace and bounce. Finn should never play again as far as I'm concerned and I think Jordan is too samey to Stokes to have room for them both. I'd also have Buttler in the team just as a batsmen, he's good enough to be in there on his batting alone which allows Billings a run with the gloves.

      My team would be;

      Hales
      Roy
      Taylor
      Root (c)
      Buttler
      Stokes
      Billings (wk)
      Willey
      Rashid
      Plunkett
      Wood
