      Interesting RG semifinals today:

      Wawrinka - Murray
      Djokovic - Thiem.

If Wawrinka appears in a Stanimal mode he will play on Sunday IMO. Thiem soon to be number one vs Novak could also be good match.

Thiem has been super impressive hasn't he? Good win from a set down against Goffin (backed him at $2.75 after first set ;D ).

Stosur v Muguruza in the women's semi. An Aussie vs one of my favourites on the women's tour. Should be a great match.

Lad can play tennis. :) Not that I think he will beat Novak, but could be interesting match. He impress me more than other young guns lately.

Good call for match against Goffin. ;)

Oh, and I just noticed that both men's semifinals are at the same time.

Novak is too damn good. Thiem isn't even playing poorly and Novak has him 2 and 1.

Fantastic top drawer tennis between Wawrinka and Murray at the moment with Murray a set up. Had a few epic tussles these two. Always remember their 2009 Wimbledon matchup, the first ever match under the roof on centre, a 5 set epic. Wouldn't be surprised if this one goes to 5 sets but Murray at the moment playing near to his best.

Thiem finally gets a break to be 3-0 up in the 3rd and now he's 5-3 down and serving to stay in it.

Massive learning curve for him but he can be proud. Great tournament and he hasn't played badly today at all.

Awesome performance by Murray to beat Wawrinka! Thought Wawrinka would win this one in all honesty but Murray pulled out his A game for today. That second break of Wawrinka by Murray was sensational by Murray. Ridiculous drop shot and a fantastic lob. Top man Andy! Top man!

edit: Murray is apparently only the 10th man to reach the final of all 4 grand slam finals and the first British man in to the final of the French Open for 79 years.

Thiem played solid tennis today but Novak is on another planet right now. Thiem lacks calmness and variety in points construction which is understandable given his age. He'll be hell of a player in a couple of years IMO.

So Murray vs The Djoker in the final. It could happened that all current top five players are RG winner except Djokovic if Murray win trophy here. Not think that's gonna happened but everything is possible.

Murray playing in some other eras would have a hatful of Slams right now.

I think in time he'll also be seen to be one of the more honest players to have played tennis especially in an era riddled by doping allegations throughout.

This Djokovic/Murray rivalry definitely has a feel of Sampras/Agassi. Would any argue that Djokovic isn't better than Sampras and that Murray isn't better than Agassi?

Muguruza taking it to Serena. But Serena always coming up with a clutch point. She's so good at it.

That was a great game of tennis! That 9th game was a thriller, credit to Serena there. Muguruza was serving well and her forehand was huge.

      Big congratulations to Muguruza!

And oh, she is F***ing hot.  :f_whistle:

I'm dreading the day when he retires, it's not as though we'll have even a Henman type player to fall back on. We'll be relying on Konta in the women's game for potential future big games.

When Henman was getting to semi finals all those years ago everyone was fearing the complete joke status British tennis would become, then when Henman was fading Murray came onto the scene. Shame because Henman is often the butt of jokes but he came about when men's British tennis would have begged to have a player who could reach the second week in Wimbledon! A limited player perhaps but he always made the best of what he had and won a number of singles titles with it as well. Win or lose it was always a highlight to see one of his epic Winbledon encounters as a kid remembering me of beautiful summer evenings and the end of the school term!

When you look at the players from Henman's era it's hard to imagine someone like Henman surviving in today's tennis climate. An almost unnatural leap in physicality in the space of a few years.

True mate. I used to love it come summer time when it came to Wimbledon. Despite the fact he only seemed to get to the semi's at Wimbledon, the crowd always got up for the occasion. It's a bit strange expecting one of our men/women to get to finals on a regular basis.

Had it not been for injuries then I think Nadal would have eclipsed everyone and set a new record Grand Slams. A player that never quite reached the heights he could have. These last few years have basically been pointless for him, the injuries are getting more and more frequent.

Like Ronaldo in football, the real Ronaldo that is. Often wonder just how good he could have been if he hadn't of done his knee once let alone the ones that followed, would be up there in the Messi bracket.

      Of course he would.

In any other era he'd have ten slams under his belt.

Guys like Ferrer, Berdych, Tsonga would have slam wins as well.

Just a joke how good Nadal and Novak are.

      Absolutely.

Roger has never been injured and has 17 and he played through an era of Roddick, Hewitt and co. who were ten levels below the current crop of players. He's won how many since? Bugger all. Novak and Rafa have 11 and 14 respectively.

That's why Roger isn't even close to the best ever tennis player.

Anyway, looking forward to tonight. Novak should win but maybe Murray can take it to him and clinch it. Promises to be a cracker.
