Why on earth are you being told to fill in a self assessment when you aren't self employed?

Just to add, that's the only gateway acc that I know, if there's others, I'm clueless about them.

They reckon it's because I've been underpaying through paye since 2010/11 and have amended various tax codes to recover the amounts since then, so they need confirmation of my earnings?

I've asked my boss how the hell that can happen when his Accountant does our wages which he does online through HMRC.  He puts the amount of earnings into HMRC systems and that gives him the figure for how much tax I should pay.  Bit different to the books I used to have to wade through but at least my mental arithmatic was good enough to know when the calculation was wrong.

Anyway I've got a couple of hundred quid refund to come now, thieving bas**rds!!!

Sounds like a load of sh*te to me mate.
I reckon HMRC fu**ed it up themselves. That's usually the way.

As long as you get sorted though, that's the main thing.

Right bit of a strange one here......POLO T SHIRTS!

No matter what make I buy from all different shops they always shrink after being washed. Now the woman says she washes them all as directed but its getting beyond a joke now.

I must have 20 of them that I cant wear and the cost is adding up.

Any ideas cos its costing me a bloody fortune!

First meeting with the hospital since my Dad got the all clear and it turns out the Big C is back in his liver after his scan.

Major setback but God willing it will all be good after another slog.

Gutted is not the word though.

You got to believe your Dad will beat this, I understand what you are going through. The only advice I can give you is look after your  Dad and treasure every moment with him.

My partners brother has just passed away after being in intensive care for nearly two weeks with severe liver problems due to alcohol abuse.
It's being horrible as the knock on affect from the liver was to the kidneys lungs and only the machines were keeping him alive .RIP Rick.

Condolences to you and your partners family brilad, it is always sad to lose someone you know and sadder when it is a close friend or family member. Give your partner all the support she needs over the coming weeks and months.

Sometimes life has a tough way of reminding us that all that really matters is our health.
