Chelsea injury scare as Diego Costa suffers hamstring blow

Diego Costa suffers a hamstring problem in training that prompts fears he could be out for up to six weeks, as Fernando Torres is interested in move to Milan

Chelsea have suffered an injury scare over star striker Diego Costa ahead of Saturday's tough trip to Everton.
It is understood Costa suffered a hamstring problem in training on Wednesday that has prompted fears he could be out for up to six weeks.
But Chelsea are hoping further assessment will show the injury is not too bad and Costa has still not given up on facing Everton at Goodison Park.
Losing Costa for any length of time would be a major blow to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and could force his hand in the final days of the transfer window.

There is also a growing feeling around Stamford Bridge that Fernando Torres could finally leave the club before the transfer window shuts.

That would leave Chelsea needing a striker. Monaco's Radamel Falcao is available and well liked by Mourinho, who is also an admirer of Porto's Jackson Martinez.

Torres is interested in a move to Milan, but the Italian club are yet to meet the striker's wage demands.
Milan have made Torres their No 1 target to replace Mario Balotelli and have received encouragement the 30-year-old would make the switch to Italy.
Chelsea have been looking to find a club for Torres all summer, but his £9m-a-year wages have put off a number of suitors.

Milan have attempted to strike a deal with Torres and are understood to be ready to pay him around £7m-a-year on a season-long loan or even a permanent deal.

It now remains to be seen whether Torres is prepared to take a wage cut, as Chelsea have indicated they will not subsidise his pay packet while he plays for a different club.

Milan are also in negotiations to take midfielder Marco van Ginkel on loan for the rest of the season, which would solve Chelsea's foreign player problem.

As much as it galls me to say it, with Costa in the side they look 'complete' now. Providing they can keep him fit and suspension free, they're the favourites for the title. Citeh second with third being a reasonable possibility for us due to Arses striker problems and Scum having to adjust to LVG.

Costa has a temper and he just needs to be hassled and he will spend half the season out suspended. I think when we play them we need to mark him with a big "CAN" of whoop-ass. Costa will be red carded by the 45 minute whistle.

I thought it was, yes, now Arsenal have apparently matched Chelsea's bid.
It seems odd that we didn't sign him because of his heart problem, but Chelsea have said their medics are happy to pass him.
I doubt we will ever get the full story, but we will be made out to be the villains.

Did read somewhere the lad had an incident of an irregular heartbeat or something very similar and further investigation was necessary, that led to a statement of ''in the light of recent evidence'' blah blah blah the club will desist in further negotiations.
It was pointed out that the player had no issues since that disclosure and had trained and performed to a satisfactory standard.
Something doesn't fit if these stories about offers from other clubs are true.

It's strange the rumours you hear,  I'd heard it was a knee ligament issue,  something that could not take 2-3 games, regularly, in a week.
