Fantastic considering they have both missed a fair number of games!

Unbelievable isn't it. Take into account those two missed large portions along with (big breath) Coutinho, Gerrard, Enrique, Johnson, Sakho, Agger and Lucas then to be sitting in 4th with 53 points at the moment is very good to say the least.

      07/08 - 50 points. (ended up picking 26 points from our last 11 games - 4th 76pts)
      08/09 - 55 points. (ended up picking 31 points from our last 11 games - 2nd 86pts)
      09/10 - 45 points. (ended up picking 18 points from our last 11 games - 7th 63pts)
      10/11 - 39 points. (ended up picking 19 points from our last 11 games - 6th 58pts)
      11/12 - 39 points. (ended up picking 13 points from our last 11 games - 8th 52pts)
      12/13 - 39 points. (ended up picking 22 points from our last 11 games - 7th 61pts)

      13/14 - 56 points.

More points at this stage than at any other since it became it 38 game season. I was actually surprised to see that each of the last 3 seasons has had us on 39 points at the 27 game mark and it really makes you appreciate just how good that 08/09 side was when they pick up 31 points from a possible 33 (if it wasn't for that c**t Arshavin, it'd of been 33 points)

Most notable thing about that run in 08/09 was though, for one of the few times in his tenure as Liverpool manager - Rafa let the players off the leash to go out and express themselves as an attacking force for a sustained period. We scored 3 or more in 8 of those remaining 11 games (we'd only done it 7 times in the previous 27 games). It got results back then.

Brendan has allowed us to be that attacking force all year basically and it's got us results now. I hope he continues to do so and doesn't become slightly more conservative as we get closer to the League Title.

Yeah, that's right. I thought we'd start the next season off as we finished that one, then we reverted to type.

Was reading the other day that since the scum beat us on 23rd September 2012 we've only lost 10 league games out of 60.

Not the best stat, especially with United coming up next, but we haven't won 5 consecutive League games in the same season since the last 5 games of  the 2008/09 season. (we won the last two of last season and first three of this year though)

Doesn't neccessarily prove anything, other than maybe we don't do well at the very end of a season but here goes.

      Since the League became 38 games per season;

      29th game – played 18; won 12, drew 2, lost 4, points 38

      30th game – played 18; won 10, drew 6, lost 2, points 36

      31st game – played 18; won 11, drew 1, lost 5, points 34

      32nd game – played 18; won 10, drew 3, lost 5, points 33

      33rd game – played 18; won 8, drew 7, lost 3, points 31

      34th game – played 18; won 11, drew 6, lost 1, points 39

      35th game – played 18; won 13, drew 1, lost 4, points 40

      36th game – played 18; won 10, drew 4, lost 4, points 34

      37th game – played 18; won 8, drew 3, lost 5, points 27

      38th game – played 18; won 8, drew 5, lost 5, points 29

How Brendan's season(s) compare first half against second half. Not per match but basically the first 19 of last season and first 14 of this season compared to the last 19 of last season and last 14 of this season.

1st half of the season v 2nd half of the season

      First half; Played 33
      Second half; Played 33

      First half; Won 14
      Second half; Won 20

      First half; Drew 10
      Second half; Drew 8

      First half; Lost 9
      Second half; Lost 5

      First half; Scored 57
      Second half; Scored 86

      First half; Conceded 43
      Second half; Conceded 35

      First half; GD +14
      Second half; GD +51

      First half; Points 52
      Second half; Points 68

      Suarez 24, Sturridge 18 - total 42.

Next goal by either of them takes them top of this list.

      RECORD BROKEN!!!!!

      And just another record broken, Brendan's highest points total with us was broken against United as well;

Today's win moved us on to 62 points after 29 games.

Last year finished and we only achieved 61 points.

Our record since the shock PL defeat to Hull: W12 D2 L2

We all know that those two losses could well have been draws, but I love the character shown since then. We started December with a horrible display then Suarez goes on to set a new goalscoring record for goals in one month. Such a fantastic replay, specifically from our #7.

Also worth a note: we have scored 51 goals in those 16 games. More than the mancs, bitters and the spuds have all season, and, amazingly, just 2 less than Arsenal.

Sturridge might best both of those if he carries on his pace. 29 goals in 36 league apps. Insanity!

      Love the Torres stat.

      Heres another ..

In 13 matches against sides in the Premier League top nine, the Scum  have just one win - a 1-0 victory over the Arse.

...and we used to worry about not winning against teams above us.  This is talking nearly half of the table.

I don't know if anything like this was posted before but after seeing top clubs in England being trashed at some games against other top teams by huge goal margin( ManU - ManC 1-6, ManU -Ars 8-3, Liv-Ars 5-1 etc...) i was wandering what were our worst defeats where We conceded more than 3 goals similar to those mentioned.

My point is that, as far as I remember We can have an awful season and awful manager but We never get destroyed by opposition by conceding more than 3 goals without scoring any or without putting up a good fight on the pitch.

Anyone have those stats somewhere or willing to make analysis and post?
