Over time we are now 2 points better - with 1 less goal scored and 1 less conceded.

Comparing actual fixtures we are identical to this time last season.

its just disappointing the way we are playing at the moment, pre season looked so promising but the way i look at it is at the end of the season you look at the table and you've lost drawn and won some, last season we played really well till was it November and everything went so wrong and after that with our confidence up we went 15 games unbeaten, so hopefully this is our bad patch and its upwards from now on, look at how spurs are doing makes you feel a lot better.

      Updated.

Like for like match performance we are now a point better off, although we are scoring less but also conceding less.

Time comparison shows we are were we were last season after 4 games - on 10 points.

Last season, in our next 10 fixtures we drew 5 and won 5.

Ok we have 10 points like we had last season, but this time we have a million percent more confidence and a chance to gather more momentum having no international break to disrupt it.

Performance after 5 games identical to last season in terms of points but scored 6 less goals.

Performance against clubs, still one point better off and no change in goal difference.

Performance over time and performance against clubs we are up 3 points after 7 games.

Suggesting a possible improvement of around 15 points this season.

I think if we did we'd probably be champions, especially if we take a few more points off the other "big guns".

Great post this. Good to see the stats show the obvious improvement in the team's menality this season with the never say die attitude and greater emphasis on attack. A similar result against Pourtsmouth as last season will be welcome come the final whistle tomorrow. ;)

      2008/2009 season
      Won 8, drew 2, lost 1.
      Points - 26
      Goals scored - 16
      Goals conceded - 8
      Home : Won :  4
                 Drew : 1
                 Lost :  0
      Away : Won : 4
                 Drew : 1
                 Lost : 1

      2007/2008 season
      Won 5, drew 6, lost 0.
      Points - 21
      Goals scored - 17
      Goals conceded - 6
      Home : Won :  1
                 Drew : 4
                 Lost :  0
      Away : Won : 4
                 Drew : 2
                 Lost : 0

We are better off by 5 points this season that last season after 11 games. I'll not consider the goals we scored and conceded cause last season's 6 goals against Derby surely helped upped the stats. We scored 1 goal less and conceded 4 goals more.
Our home record now is much more better. Winning 4 games and drawing once while we won once and drew 4 last season. Our away form is almost similar.

The difference? We have been top/ joint top for 9 games now since the Middlesbrough game. Last season we were only top for 1 week.

      So yes, we are improving!

it shows that unbeaten runs dont really count for much when you are drawing to many games.  losing a match is not such a big problem if we continue to turn last seasons draws into wins

      29 points after 12 games.

Word of Caution: 2002/03 - after 12 games we were on 30 points.

      Finished 5th with 64 points.
