REDS fans are already hailing Fernando Torres as their new Superman.

And the Spanish striker dressed the part during a city shopping trip – with the Man of Steel logo on his chest.

Less than 24 hours after scoring a match-winning hat-trick against Reading, the young Spaniard was back in Liverpool for a bit of retail therapy.

The 23-year-old former Atletico Madrid star and Spain international, who was signed by LFC for a record £18m this season, looked happy as he strolled along in a Superman T-shirt.

He and his girlfriend Olalla were spotted close to the exclusive designer boutiques in the Metquarter.

Look at the size of the Next bags Liverpool striker Fernando Torres and girlfriend Olalla are carrying! We caught the Spanish player and Olalla out home shopping in the Speke retail park in Liverpool. The couple went into a number of interiors shops including Next Home where judging by the size of his bags, Torres spent quite a bit. Alas, if only they had waited a day they probably would have got all that stuff at a fraction of the price at the Next half price 2 day sale.
