Should Riera start against Hull for us?
Sometimes his performance reminded me of Riise. Very limited vision on the pitch and thus bad decision making. While he crosses, it often results as a corner rather than a heading chance. Plus, they can both score odd goals here and there, once for a while................I think he was the worst performer overall in the last few games. But that's just me.

Last game it looked as if he was running away from the balls... he tries to cross the balls from the left but when it's something else he just runs away from it, that's my feeling from him.

Riera was deservedly dropped against Hull, had a shocker against Arsenal, was worse then Babel at controlling it.

Overall he had a decent first season. I expect more consistencies and crosses from him next season.

Let's face it it's not all the time that we buy a player and he's outstanding first season. He might take a few to properly settle, I personally think he's a great player and he'll improve with time at the club. I think sometimes he underestimates the qualities of the players, I suppose that comes from playing with a bunch of average players at Espanyol. He's definately added something to the team though and despite some poor performances, I think he's done pretty well this season.

I thought he was boss today
linked up superbly with Insua, and put some nice crosses in, my only criticism is that he needs to read the game a bit better and just think a bit more.
His performance was certainly an improvement from Wednesday.
Keep it up Albert.
am agree wid u
cause he has a gud skill and technical
he can be better if he practise more on the ball control

He should be dropped. Dossena for the LW spot.
I must be on my own there but he looked so good when he played there against fulham. Sticks to his line, can beat players, his crossing is good.
Please, Rafa, drop Riera for Dossena!

I'm tempted to say he should be swapped for the next few games but we've been winning with him in the team strangely...

Riera has certainly gone off the boil lately,he was going well and all of a sudden his form has gone down the gurgler.I do not understand what has gone wrong as he has got quality players playing alongside him.

Dont get me wrong, I think Rieras a decent winger . But he could be so much better and maybe he will with a bit more time. His first years been ok though. I just wish that when we buy a winger that they RUN at defenders all the time. Just take people on. Riera has shown he is capable of this then goes missing for a bit. Needs to work on that but hes still been better than Babel.

I think he's average. he has been good at mediocre games, but never in a big one. Have you ever seen him go past a top defender? not really the type that should get the nod week-in week-out.

He's good but in some games he tend to be anonymous! When the game needed for someone to step up he didn't deliver.

He came late to the squad but started ok and did well against Utd and chelsea. He's worth another season hopefully he has settled down now and with a good pre season and maybe some competition for his place he will improve. Babel unfortunately didnt push him hard enough for his place.

A good player. Cant forget the fact that he is new to the premier league and needs at least half a season to adapt. Shown glimpses of brilliance at times. Will only improve.

Complete and utter nonesense from start to finish.
Firstly he came with experience of the English game after a spell at Man City. Little experience after a short spell with City, but he certainly wasn't "new".
Secondly if he needed half a season to adapt - why was his best performances in the early stages of his Liverpool career? Since that half a season you speak of, he's been dreadful and hasn't even been able to nail down a regluar place in the side since New Year.

Once again DLS spot on, this guy is not a novice, hasn't performed to expectation so ship him out and get Silva in, how difficult is that.

Going to have to disagree with you strongly mate. I think Albert's been a good addition to the squad this season, and I've been impressed with his overall performance. Even though he went through a rough patch mid season.
If you're going to slate anybody, slate Lucas, slate Dossena, or even slate Babel. Because I think Albert will be staying put, fighting it out for the LM spot where Silva will be occupying next season. If anything, he'll be reliable cover.
If anyone's going, it's going to be 2/3 out of the players that I've mentioned above.

his performances were shockingly good at start. I really was bummed when rafa announced the deal. But he proved himself well and fast. Yet when real challenges came, he was just fine, nothing too good at all. I'd surely say, it's the area in the squad we need strengthening. We're okey all over otherwise.

erk very positive. Good performances at the start of the season....inconsistency or maybe the sides he played against. Oh well,as a liverpool fan you can judge better than me. Just my opinion. Lets just wait and see next season.

Nope, must disagree. The best games he has had have been against the top sides. He has failed miserably in the 'lesser' games and that was our problem throughout the season, we didnt batter sides that deserved a battering.
Started well, just fell from there. Competition will be good for him, the kick up the arse he deserves.

I think Riera blows hot and cold. In games he can be at his very best, we've seen glimpses of it but there are many games where he has faded off and haven't made a good impact, and its one of the reasons why Rafa subs him off quite early in the game.
I'll be honest I think hes a good worker for the team, certainly a good addition to a team but nothing else. Just a useful squad player that will add value and bring some width to the left hand side.
Pretty much agree with you there crouchinho. I wouldn't say he failed miserably in the lesser games though, I would like to think that he is inconsistent. Still a player who likes to take on others and whips in a few dangerous crosses here and there, scored some stunners, just needs to work a little bit on his consistency.

He has lost all confidence, cause of it he plays static, run along the left side and put a cross, if someone is in his way the ball is good as gone.

For those who dont seem to know who Riera is he is the player who has been delivering the goods from the left wing, ok he doesnt light up the world but hes got a trick and isnt afraid of going beyond the right back like most 'wingers' we sign. He gets his boots white and is strong in competition for the ball. Hes getting on a bit but makes time for himself so pace isnt essential. Babel should learn from him and maybe then he would get more games.
As for Dossena filling in... do me a favour
