Best before date says 15th September.

A quick response would be appreciated because I'm rather hungry.

There's two left.  Do you think I should eat them both or will the other still be okay tomorrow?

Pushing it far for tomorrow, i'd eat them both now. If you only want one, give the other to the dog. (if you got a dog) ;D.

I have got a dog.  I've just had one.  It wasn't great.  And having just re-checked it wasn't 'Best Before' it was 'Use by'.

      That's bad right.

      ;)

Should be OK as long as they've been in the fridge, I wouldn't leave them any longer than tomorrow though, smell them first  ;D if they smell alright, you'll be OK.

Will do.  Got shitloads of stuff in my fridge that is pushing the boundaries due to a lack of shopping action so this thread will be busy tomorrow.

Are you sure your not one of those shoppers who hound the last isle with the food that goes out of date that day? Just because it's cheap.

Good luck for waking up all well tomorrow.

Yeah - might go and have a look now and do something.

No I'm not one of those. In fact I always put my hand right in and get the stuff from the back with the longest date which probably pisses off the staff.

Thanks for lending your thoughts AFTER I'd tucked in. ;)

I use to work for Asda, and the amount of staff that moans and moans about customers grabbing the best from the back of the shelf was mad. Why the hell put the good dates out, and then moan. Customers are bound to go digging deep to find them. I do.

      Best before: 14th September
      Use by: 15th September

I'll have this with my tea tomorrow.

Surely the garlic will kill all the bacteria and sh*t?

Maybe the garlic might kill the bacteria, but if your going to start eating loads of out of date food, it's going to kill you, or put you in hospital.

      No. Fridged.

There can't be anything in a garlic based snack that will kill you four days after the use by date surely?

I wouldn't wanna find out! surely there's a pizza place you can order from?

Me and the missus are terrible for leaving stuff in the cupboard/fridge for too long (usually fresh veg which we get off her parents) and end up debating the very same thing, as a general rule I usually give it about 1-2 days after the use by date depending on the colour and/or smell!

I've already thrown out a £3.50 pack of mince this week (well the missus did).  I'm not throwing out a £1 something garlic bread pack when it's 'probably' safe to eat.
