Ooo, your one of the people who see it that way. What about all the stars Canada took who were in the exact same situation? Canada wouldnt have had Inagi who was African and Lennox Lewis who was British. Both were roughly the same age i'm sure (apologies if they werent). De Guzman wont change Canada - he will improve them no doubt but most players would. Cant blame him, what would you have done? The country where you trained, learnt and grew in to the player and person you are and then say thanks but i'm going t oplay for another country. It must have been tough but he made the right choice to further his career and improve him as a player.
As for this topic, it could well turn into the 'Insua - short/long term fix or not thread'. Right now we should definately let him have a few games. In January though, Heinze might not be a bad shout. Been poor for Real but a change of scene may help him and on the cheap. Not only that but he will help Insua in his movement, positioning and tackling and being Argentinian will definately help. Savvy signing IMO.
