Podolski isnt that good. His international performances seem to distract some from his domestic form. Keane is proven, he will get better.

personally,i'd like to see Rafa try and sign Owen. But i dont think walking out on Liverpool when Rafa turned up,has done him any favours  ::)....,if Rafa wanted to "take a chance"......why not MARLON KING from Hull  :o.I think he could be a real top draw striker, with the right players,i.e.Gerrard,Alonso and Torres etc around him

Sorry but King is and always will be a Championship striker IMO.. Him at Liverpool would be like a walrus out of water..

Can't you tell that Rafa is building a team that works like a well oiled piece of machinery where every player knows what to do and where to be. This season we are seeing the results of 3-5 years of precision tuning by the man and only players of quality would be able to cope and adjust to that level of detail..

King I'm afraid does not have what it takes. As for Podolski, I am a fan of the lad and if we have the 10 or so million quid to spend, I say "snap him up".

i respect what you are saying but,3-5 YEARS OF PRECISION TUNING have brought in..Itandje,Dossena,Voronin,Kewell etc.what im saying is why not take a chance on a striker whos scored more goals so far this season(than a man who we shelled out £20m for in the summer, and out of 18 league starts,as been taken off 15!) in a team, that dont have the sort of players that Liverpool have
it will be interesting to see Kings "goals per game" to Keanes at the end of this season

why not MARLON KING from Hull  :o.

Yeah, why not.  With Bellamy gone and JP probably going, we need a nut case around the place.   ::)

Premier League footballer has been arrested accused of assaulting a woman in a bar in central London.

Marlon King, 28, who plays for Hull City, was arrested on Wednesday when he voluntarily attended a police station after the incident on Sunday.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said a 20-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted at the Soho Revue Bar, in Brewer Street.

Mr King has been released on bail until February.

Hull City chairman Paul Duffen stressed Mr King had not been charged and said investigations were ongoing.

He said the situation would not impact his position with the club and he was training as normal.

Striker Mr King, who is on loan from Wigan Athletic, has played 15 times for Hull in the Premiership.

On Saturday he scored the winner in Hull's 2-1 home win over Middlesbrough.

Scored the winner on Saturday, had a rest on Sunday and Monday, went out and got drunk on Tuesday, then arrested on Wednesday after assaulting a girl in a club.....Wonder if he's a fan of Craig David.  ;)

Let's face it, how many players get arrested for assault these days and then how many of them are on loan from a team like Wigan....

      No thanks.

      Back to Podolski!!!!

10 million and they'd bite our hands off for it. Will not be worth much, maybe 6-7 at most. He is not rated at all by the locals (from what i've seen/heard) and is injured.

Actually to clarify on my argument, they paid Koln 10 million Euro's to bring him to Bayern, i dont know anything about their heirarchy so i'm not sure if they'll hold out for that much or let him go for a slight loss.

They dont seem to have too many options up front for the CL too, Klose and Toni at their age could easily pick up a knock meaning they will have no one to rely on should they sell Podolski in January, which could also push his price up.

As for his injury, unsure whether he is better or not but he had a back problem about 2 weeks ago.

They have a loan deal with Landon Donavan of the LA Galaxy and are heavily linked with Olic to add more cover to the front line.

I think a player with a international profile like his has a move to Man City written all over it because they would be silly enough to pay whatever Bayern Munich want and they get a player who is a bigger name cause of his play in World Cup 06 and Euro 08.

My opinion of him is he is quite over-rated

Olic is out of European contention too? Forgot about Donavan, cheers mate.

No, Olic will fall under the same situation as Skrtel like last season

Personally, I think Marlon King would rise to the challenge, at least a bit. I like him as he scores goals and sets them up - look what he did against us.
He'd be an interesting signing either a huge flop or a huge bargain i think.
