What Does Rick Parry Actually Do?

This is my first thread that I have started so go easy on me!

The reason I have to ask this is because I haven't got a clue what his role is in the club.

And also it might actually be interesting

I believe his official role is, to give it it's full title: official F***ing pr**k

But really he is meant to deal with sponsorships and investments and all that I think. He just sicks his nose were it doesn't belong too much

Rumour has it, Parry was THE reason that the Yanks took over and not DIC. So will that mean he'll have to have a say-so in the new Kuwait based takeover? I don't want his personal greed ruin this one too.

He is sent to McDonalds every lunch time to get everone food, he probably makes the tea and then he changes the picture of Rafas head on the dartboard so that all the backstabbing bas**rds can entertain themselves instead of concentrating on the image of the club and the way it is being run...........

He appears again in the evening wearing his mothers panties and stockings. Then he bends over and lets the yanks F**k him because they have been f***in everyone since they signed the decleration of independance.

Oh I don't know if he shaves his legs though.

I don't even think this is his responsibility now.  Ian Ayre was appointed Commercial director and should be in charge of stuff like that.

I think Rick Parry was in charge of finding a suitable investor for the club for David Moores.  Well done Rick you useless c**t.

And I think he is also responsible for ticketing.  Well done Rick, another blinder.

I try to be balanced when I think about Rick Parry but for the life of me I can't think of a single thing he has done well for the club.  From failing to plan peoples contract talks so they're not left in limbo, to picking morons to take over the club, to shafting fans over tickets, and for preferring daytrippers over proper supporters?

I can't stand Tom Hicks - but he was spot on when he said Rick Parry was terrible at his job.

rick parry is a clown,hes to blame for the two useless yanks laurel an hardy,and parrys judgement on transfer targets has lead us to miss out on countless world class players,he was at fault when gerrard nerly left for the rent boys,his marketing and money makeing role for the club is an absoloute joke,the man is just a pure pleb the sooner parry,and his two yanky bum chums are gone the better !

I remember when he first arrived, and it was supposed to be quite a coup. I think he came from the FA with high praise. He was going too generate a lot of income with investments, sponsorship and the like. Still waiting Rick...

He is a useless Arse-Clown and the sooner he gets replaced the better.

I hate the under-handed way he operates. Very un-LFC like!

What does he actually do?

F**k all except piss off Rafa and the fans.

He's under contract to 'Tie Rack' isn't he

I'm not Parry's biggest fan and don't exactly know off hand what his job description entails, but I'll go on what I've read just to try and put a different look on it all. After all there's two sides to every arguement and Rick needs a defense as much as the next man, so without claiming "Parry is God" I'll just try and give him some backing.

If Parry had a say in who David Moores should or should not sell to, surely he helped Moores in select the manager as well. In other words he had a say so in Rafa Benitez becoming our manager which 99% of fans are more than happy with.

If Parry is solely to blame for us missing out on the likes of Simao/Heinze/Neill and god knows who else, surely he's worked on other transfers i.e. Torres/Reina/Skrtel and so on.

If Parry has helped prolong contract talks for the likes of Kuyt/Agger (most recent cases) then he's also been involved in those contracts that have been signed without the hassle. I'm sure Reina has signed a new contract since the one he signed on day one, similar I'd think Xabi has signed an extentsion.

If Parry is in charge of the sponsorship deals then I'm sure he's had a say in Carlsberg being our sponsor for the last 20 years almost. I don't know how long Parry has been at the club but it's certainly getting on a bit so he must of had some talks at some point about a new sponsor or renewing the contract with Carlsberg.

So again I'm not saying Parry is worthy of a place in Liverpool's Legendary Boardmembers Club or that he is even good at his job, but people are too quick to say Parry is useless and done F**k all but pick up a pay cheque for his new car and all that. If memory serves me right, it was Parry who convinced Carlsberg not to run a deal with a certain newspaper, but most Liverpool fans overlooked Parry's involvement in that incident as it'd of meant them swallowing a bit of pride and actually giving him a pat on the back rather than a knife.

Just to clear up, I don't really think Parry does his job as well as he could. All I'm trying to do is cut the fella some slack and show there are two sides to every arguement and both need to be expressed.

seems to be a genuine question, so...parry is chief executive officer which makes him, effectively, the general manager of the business side of the club just as any ceo in any business

now, whether he does it well is a whole other question..
