Selection and Substitutions - Confused !

I would love to get inside the head of Rafa Benitez.

What goes through his head when he names a side before a game? What goes through his mind when he makes his substitutions?
Can somebody please explain?

In my opinion, he has made so many inexplicable decisions, I wonder what is coming next.
Was there a need to change a winning side, a side that played excellently at the weekend? Why Dossena? Why Lucas? Why take Torres off when he said he needs to play games to get match fit?

There are just so many Why's and I am struggling to understand.

We will never get any momentum going to push Utd if Benitez continues to make, what appear to be random decisions.

If only JCKOPKING were manager, instead we have this chump, Rafa, who only won the ECC and put us back in the title race, using random decisions mind you.


Seriously though, there is an answer to every why. Do not doubt Rafa's genius because he doesn't have the same 11 players who start every match.

                     I agree with you over Dossena and Lucas but Torres coming off was spot on and in my eyes was needed alot sooner as he was clearly struggling for what ever reason. That said Rafa is a crazy man when it comes to selections and subs !
