      EPL in America
      Oct 25, 2009 08:41:08 pm
Based on today's sell-out at Wembley.  I was curious what some think about real EPL matches being played in the States.  Would anyone think a match between Liverpool and Man United at Yankee Stadium would be a success or would you be upset losing such a quality match to an American Stadium?  Would anyone make the trip to watch the match?  I think Liverpool playing a real League match against another EPL team at Yankee Stadium or Giants Stadium would be HUGE!  I know for a fact I would go. I dont think I will ever see Liverpool play and the odds are worse that I would ever get too see them at Anfield.  So, If they came to the States I would certainly make it to the match.

      Personally not a good idea.

Not going to happen. All that traveling is not good. Sorry but no. The Time difference, just no. NFL only have 16 games with rest weeks, where we have 40 to 50 games a season. Nice idea, but no.

Sorry but you will not be seeing the Reds play in the US during the open season.

That's a disgraceful idea YANK_LFC_FAN , they need to come to Melbourne, Australia and play at the MCG.  ;)

In seriousness, yes Adelaide Oval. Seen cricket there a few times and its a beautiful place.

But like Gow said, Anfield or nowhere. I would rather go there than have them come to me, unless it was offseason tours.

You're both wrong, they should come over and play at Subiaco Oval. ;)

Better than all that.  I'll get a dozen Kegs of Beer, a ton of BBQ and clear out my backyard.

Just an Idea. I know that they play as far east as Russia and play some of the Russian Clubs for the Champions League. Which I thought was as long as an East Coast US trip.  Any trips made to the US are strictly Friendlies and I would like to see a match that means something.

But if we did have a game in the US, we could have a "Trailer Party" thingy or what ever they are called. :ernaehrung004:

      BUT

Would you Yanks be ready for the Scouse invasion that would inevitably follow?

Sorry same as Gow and Court, just don't agree with any league games being played abroad. Wouldn't arse me if the US or Oz held that World Club Championship thingy though.

I would have no problem with a "Scouse Invasion"  It seems everywhere I go to watch a match, its Infested w/ Man. United and Chelsea supporters.  So, I would welcome the help..

What about Champions League???  Would you accept an MLS team playing?

That would be the European Champions League.

Wouldn't arse me in the slightest, it's not like they'd cause any of the big teams problems.
