he played well today... only negative point was his weak final balls into the box... hardly beat the first man but he is so good at dribbling with the ball... he has got potential and I have lost my spelling skills

He did OK today set up a few chances with cutbacks to the edge of the box. No crosses into dangerous areas. Still wasting to many dead ball situations not beating the first defender. Got plenty of the ball, most attacks in the first half went down the right, needs a goal I think (who does n't!!)
Keep the head up and don't stop trying the unexpected, take on the full back always JP

      Nice eyebrow fade...

I see the voting is starting to turn in Jermaine's favour on this thread.

Good to see - let's hope he can carve himself out a career at Anfield.

just wanted to know peoples opinions on Jermaine pennant's.
for me as a winger he seems to do everything that mark Gonzalez doesn't do beats his man and has a good quality of crosses.

Has improved as the season has gone on.  He seems more confident at the moment and his delivery has been better recently.  Much inprovement is needed though, in terms of impact, goals and consistency if he is to last the distance under Benitez.  Next season is very important for him and the final might give us more answers as to whether he can hack it the highest level.

dont think he's a particulary bad player, and I for one was excited when we bought him, but I dont think he's cut the mustard at Liverpool. I dont think his attitude is right, and I would bite off the hand of a buyer, with £22.50 in his mit.

Sorry Jermaine I would love to be proved wrong, but I would definately take you with me as a candidate for room 101

i agree,it's a pity he's not in the papers more often for what he can do with the ball at his feet, rather than the feats with his balls.Rafa should get rid!!!

That's a good point mate. But I disagree on Rafa getting rid. I still think we need a truely dangerous right winger, ahead of Pennant. But he has been improving this season and getting that little bit more of a nuisance to defenders. I think a lot of Pennants play is to do with his head. He needs to sort his head out and just love playing footie.

I think Pennant has the ability but as yet not the confidence and self belief a good winger needs. When he does take on the full back he is usually succesful but often enough his crosses are dire. He is improving and he will get better, what he doesn't need is his own fans on his back. He's overwhelmed by other peoples belief in his ability, i.e. Rafa, and needs encouragement. He will come good. I doubted him because Wenger let him go but his heart was never in the Arse, as he told them at his  signing press conference when asked what his ambitions were, he said he wanted to play for the Reds! Christ, can you see Rafa signing Eto and him saying his ambition is to play for the scum? He'd never get a Liverpool shirt on his back! When Pennants  got that red shirt on, support him, that's what we do. That's why were here.  Short memories ?   he's helped stuff Chelski twice now!

fair comments mate and i think you're right about the confidence and encouragement issues, but could it also be that by changing his image off the pitch could be affecting his form on it?I hope he does improve and prove me wrong,as i am of the old school and like wingers in a team.

he's improved a lot since start of season and a good game in athens along with a winners medal will do wonders for him, he's said next season he thinks he can be like ronaldo, hopefully that means goals but no diving.
