I met Ricky Ponting once.

Played against Kieron Richardson in a youth cup in Italy. Met a few Aussie rugby league players mainly on the piss and my aunt is first cousins with Stjepan Tomas an ex Croatian International also played for Galatasaray and Fenerbache currently playing at Russian champion side Kazan Rubin, never met him but he was kind enough to give me his match shirt he wore against Ecuador in the 02 WC.

I lived very close to Craig Johnston's sister many years back.
I never got to meet him, but saw him walk by our building a few times, whilst visiting.

I met Peter Beardsley when he was a guest player in Melbourne years back. We had a chat, took photos and he autographed my shirt. He was such a gentleman.

A couple of decades back I also met many cricketers such as Richard Hadlee, Clive Lloyd, Malcolm Marshall, Gus Logie, Richie Richardson and many more. They were on tour playing an exhibition match and were very approachable.

My friend lived a few doors down from Kenny Dalglish's Aunt in Melbourne and said she was a very nice person.

I know they don't all fit the topic, but that's the closest I'll get to it.

I met Tony Sanneh who played every minute for the US national team in the 2002 World Cup and had an assist against Portugal. He also played in Germany for a few years.

I've met the whole Birmingham team including Steve Bruce when they came to train at my club when I was 13. Some may have seen my picture with David Dunn.

Also met Jamie Carragher when I visited Liverpool last September, shook his hand and got a picture taken with him!

I am not related to anyone famous but George Best grew up just down the road from me. I once served his Sister and Dad when i worked in Clarks shoe shop. I also played in the George Best Football tournament on the playing fields he used to play on as a kid.

Met Rafa Benitez once and he was a real gentleman. Also, for 2 summers in a row, i shared a plane with Djribel Cisse from Liverpool to Nice in the South of France. Surprisingly for me, he was really really nice, both times. He loved my sister cause she was fluent in French. He also had no problem signing autographs and getting a few photos with me. Michael Owen, when i was about 7, told me to "F**k-off" when i asked him for a photo. He was my hero at the time. He was in Omagh, in Ireland, for a charity game to raise money to rebuild Omagh after the Omagh bombing. That day i also met Patrick Berger, Dietmar Hamman, Gerard Houllier, Jamie Redknapp, Steve Staunton amongst a number of other players and staff. By far the nicest man i have met was Sammy Lee. That was in Omagh and he made it a point to bring me into the hotel and meet all my heros. I hate using this word but it best describes him- LEGEND!

Penrith is a bit shabby so they all live in my neighbourhood which is a bit more cleaner and flashier than the rest of the city. I always see the players around.

Once played poker and blackjack with Nathan Smith and Gavin Cooper and got in to a lovely convo.

On my way home from Dubai i was in transit with Usmain Khwaja and John Buchanen (Australian cricketer and national coach). Usmain is a top bloke and signed a top for me.

Played a game of footy when i was a real young lad with Steve Carter at his testimonial (played the most games for Panthers in history).

When North Queensland Fury were in Sydney i met Robbie Fowler and took a photo/signed my Liverpool shirt for me. He chatted with a few of my mates too because we only went to see him in our Liverpool kits. Started singing songs for him and he came over
