Liverpool will stage a Davis Cup tie for the first time when Great Britain face Poland in September.
The Echo Arena will host the Euro/Africa group one relegation clash from 18-20 September, with the tie to be played on hard courts.
Great Britain lost 4-1 to Ukraine in Glasgow in March.
"Liverpool is a fantastic city with a rich sporting pedigree. I'm very excited to take the tie to the north-west," said GB captain John Lloyd.
"I am delighted that the city is so keen to host what will be a difficult tie for us and we will need the support of a vocal crowd if we are going to maintain our place in group one in 2010."
Great Britain must beat Poland to avoid dropping into group two of the Euro/Africa zone - the third tier of the Davis Cup.
The Echo Arena hosted last year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony.
