Newcastle have reveled that Alan Shearer will be appointed as their new coach with immediate effect.
The latest reports claim that Michael Owen is to leave as part of the Shearer deal as he has issues with Shearer.
Rafa Benitez has signed a pre contract agreement with Owen, and he will be a Liverpool player as soon as the transfer window opens.
Benitez has so far failed to comment but there will be a press conference at 1pm today.
It is thought that Owen will play the supersub role vacated by David Fairclough.
There is no transfer fee as Owen will pick up £100,000 a week, exactly on par with Torres and Gerrard.
Its thought that it is only a one year rolling contract, due to Owens unreliable fitness.
