Benitez tops newspaper poll

Rafael Benitez has been voted the best coach in the world in a poll conducted by three European sports papers, two in Spain and one in Italy.

The Liverpool chief came out ahead of Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger and Fabio Capello.
Benitez said: "You cannot say that someone is the best in the world as it is almost impossible to guarantee that, but at least you have three big newspapers and supporters saying that we as a club are not bad."

"That for me is very positive because it means our staff are really good and the players are really good. The manager always depends on the players and his staff. You cannot be a good manager if you do not have a good team behind you."

So we are the best team in the Uefa Rankings, Reina, Carra, Gerrard and Torres were all voted as the Premierships best players in the positions (conducted in the summer), Have the Worlds best gaffer.

With all that it makes Champions League and League glory this season seems even more likely.

Great news we've known this a long time. Watch out fergie is going to be drinking more whiskey now he's not the best manager in the world.

yes rafa deserves this he is a 24/7 man we are lucky to have him. hope the players respond the last 8 games. he is a master strategist. he basically has learnt a lot he keeps on improving. could attract more top class players to the reds

Doesn't mean he is or isn't. Pretty sure Rafa would rather prove it than be voted for it.

He still is though. 

I think everyone realises the amount of effort it has taken him to build this team and club as a whole. No other man could have done it

Because he is the only manager who had to work under the constraints imposed on him and the club by Hicks,Gillette and Parry.That alone must make him the most qualified to be given the honour.

yeah mate , point taken . But what are you trying to say? I truly believe Rafa is at least as good as anyone out there. Success depends on many things going your way at times through the season. And I believe in time given equal time and funds he will prove this and put as many trophies on the table as Ferguson has. Obviously the likes of Ferguson have more experience in English football but as i said i wouldnt swap rafa for anyone.

Give it just under 2 months from now and he'll prove these papers were right all along. 

Its a statement from organisations who have no ulteroir motives,fiancial interest or idiotic loyalties affecting their judgement and its something we don't need telling.

We are known to be the most knowlegable fans in the world,it was only a matter of time before everyone caught up with what we have been saying for a long time.
