Chelsea have had a big-money bid for David Villa rejected, according to reports.

The Blues are understood to have made a 50million euro offer two weeks ago, but it was turned down by Valencia.

The Spanish outfit are currently suffering through dire financial problems, meaning they may have to sell some of their prize assets, including Villa.

Chelsea are one of a number of sides interested, along with Real Madrid, Liverpool and Barcelona, but will have to produce an even greater bid to land their man.

Manchester City were also thought to be amongst the teams in the chase, but reports have it they have ended their interest.

You sure, I'd take him in a heartbeat. But if true that he wants to stay in Spain, he'll go to Barca.

Are Valencia F***ing stupid?  They're in a 'dire financial situation' and they're turning down big money offers?  If they're not careful they will end up selling Villa and Silva for half the prices that have been quoted!

Are they absolutely brainless?

He wants to go to Barca and with the situation of both Henry and Eto it is very likely they could come in with a huge bid for him as well. I doubt it will be 50m euros but it doesn't really matter because Villa has the last say. I am sure it was up to Valenica they would of sold him to City during the winter transfer window.

Didn't he come out in the press last week as saying he wanted to see out his contract with Valencia? Think he's got 4 years of a 6 year contract left, would be a good reason too why his asking price is so high.

Hmmm......does this mean, he won't go to Barcelona?  or does it mean he wants to go to Barcelona? 

Can't see where we'd get €50million from, especially as thats pretty much the equivalent to £50million at the moment. Besides, he's not worth £50million quid.
