Hull City v Liverpool - pre match thread

I won't be watching, or listening to the game tomorrow.  I'll just be looking out for the result after 5.

Whatever is going to happen, will happen.  If United don't get beat soon that's a massive shame, but we did all we could.

6 games to go...

My mate, a Boro fan reckons United will play a weakened side against them because of the Champions League... we can only hope.

I was torn between playing Arbeloa or putting Carragher on the right & playing Skrtel with Agger. Also playing Benayoun depends on Stevie being fit, but I think I would rather he was on the bench even if he is fit - best to be 100% sure.

I'm going for 4 - 0, we seem to like scoring 4 goals. Lets just hope we don't concede the same amount this time!!

It seems like 4 is our magical number the last couple of games..

Lets get 3 points in the bag and put the pressure right back on United,it was slack defence that cost us against Arsenal so hopefully we have learnt from that.We can still win the league so hold your heads up high and remember us REDS never walk alone.

I just hope the lads can put this game to rest in the first half.

It's not going to be easy going to the KC Stadium but we have to go there and WIN to stay in the race and I'm sure the boys will do us proud, AGAIN.

I can see Torres and Yossi continuing their rich veins of form so I'm going for the magical 4 goals scored for us and maybe them to nick one. 4-1 to take us back top of the league.

If we start as we have been and get the eary goal i think we'll be in total control, otherwise it could be a fight. still us to win though.

Looking forward to this one to shake off the dissapointment off the Arsenal game. We will go out all guns blazing I dont give a sh*t that Hull are facing relegation and need a result, they will not get one tommorow. 3 points for us is almost guaranteed we have nothing to lose and are still in reach of that title. Lke I said in another thread a draw against the Spurs, and Boro and a loss to Man City or Arsenal will mean they drop 7 points. All very possible given how sh*t United played and they have the CL in between as well.

Hopefully if we smash these we dont kill whats left of their confidence. We need them to be up for the game against Man U, after all.

I'd take a 1-0 right now but we know its going to be nervy again its definitely a good way to loose weight watching Liverpool. I fancy Tottenham to get something tomorrow as he will be fielding a weaker side to prepare for CL game.

Steven Gerrard has been ruled out of Liverpool's crunch encounter with Hull City on Saturday.
The skipper has yet to recover from an adductor injury sustained against Chelsea on April 8 - though he is expected back for next weekend's home game with Newcastle.

Steven Gerrard may be out of this game but Masch, Xabi, Fernando, Benayoun, Kuyt are like at their best at the right time, last 5 games of the season.

I don't see why we can't collect 15 out of 15.

If we win the last 5 and dont win the league we can be proud of our late charge but a good win tomorrow and any kind of result for THFC and its game on again. I think its going to be tough they are everything we hate to play against and have struggled against this season. 3 points is all that matters now.

We have conceded lots of goals in the past 3 games. It is time to stop the rot, get it sorted out and really, have a straight go and just crush them.

After so much goals we have conceded, we better sort it out fast or risk our season ending in tatters.

Although Mancs are with a big advantage but I still think we can nick it. In worst case I don't think we will finish any place below top two.

Even if we finish 2^nd, I would still consider this season as very good. We have made real progress in league and closed the gap at the top considerably as compared to last two seasons.

We gave away cheap goals against very good sides in last two games. Most of these goals were either because of we chasing the game or individual mistakes. If we would have conceded goals because of collective failure of defense then it would have been a cause of worry for me.
Our players just need to relax a little bit (mentally) and play their natural game. I reckon we are creating enough chances to score 3-4 goals, even against physical teams like Hull.

I was thinking we could rest (not rotate  ) some players here.

These are not big changes, but some fresh legs considering the physically and mentally draining last match we had.

Carra looks a little bit tired to me and Hyypia would be of good advantage with set pieces.
Riera and Insua link up well in my view. We can rest Yossi and bring in Babel/N'Gog to give us more height.
