I'm Muslim, I don't drink but I'll happily wear the shirt with Carlsberg on it.

      Aston Villa?

      Main sponsor: Acorns (Children's Hospice)

      Cost per annum: Free

Randy Lerner, Villa's AMERICAN owner, has taken a leaf out of Barcelona's tie-up with Unicef.
Villa gave their shirt free to a local Children's Hospice, costing the club around £5m a year in revenue.

      Barcelona?

For over a century club bosses kept their team strip sponsor-free.

They signed up to a five-year agreement with Unicef that will see Barcelona not only sport the children's charity's banner on its shirts, but also contribute just over £1m to its humanitarian projects each year.
If you take into account how much they could have made from selling to a conventional sponsor, now as European Champions [more than Juventus's £15m-a-year deal with Tamoil], their decision is staggering.

      Moral.

Yes, very moral... but we could sure do with the money still from sponsorship.

Yes and they've had to sell their club captain!

You can all the morals you want, but let's face it, football is a pretty-much unmoralistic sport. Look at how most fans are ripped off, anything moral about that?

what's muslims got to do with the sponsorship of out top's?

whoever bid's the high price to be our next sponsor's get's the deal, whether it's alchol, gambling, porno,or cow & gate milk, you can buy the top's without the sponsor's logo on it,without dragging religion into it.

Come off it, why do you only post when there's something controversial being thrown about?

It's pretty much all arguing too.

£7.2 million a year is not enough in my opinion. That only works out to about only 20 million after 3 years. And over 4 years this works out to 28 million. Compared to Juventus, Bayern and United etc, we've been losing a lot. We're up there as the best club in the world, we've got more european cups, one of the biggest fan bases in the world, well probably right next to United and we deserve more than just 30 million.

Real don't exactly demand a lot from their shirt sponsor because the deals they do elsewhere is staggering, they'll easily live without that 38million IMO. If even Juventus and Bayern can have a good sum of 75 and 68 million each, then I dont see why we are not in a position to demand 80, or even 90 million.

The Liverpool shirt is so common, you go out and you'll see people wearing it. Well now I don't exactly see Juventus, Bayern shirts in sports shops but I see Liverpool. And why are they having more sponsorship money than us is a mystery.

We've got to be aggressive in the transfer market, and this is one point where I agree with the yanks with. We're a huge club, an institution and only this money will go a long way in helping the club achieve even greater success off the field, as well as going a long way into clearing off the debt.

I guess it would be pretty sweet if we did get a new sponsor, although I've grown to like Carlsberg on our shirts, it belongs there almost.

Carlsberg has been a sponser for so long it has grown to be just a part of the shirt in my eyes, everyone recognises Carlsberg as Liverpool basically. I quite like the shirts with Carlsberg on them and would love to see the association continue. But, only if we can get a deal that competes with the best in the world. If not, bye bye Carlsberg.
Little message to them also. I would not have been drunk on Carlsberg multiple times if it wasn't for the Liverpool shirts, so yeah..  :f_whistle:

Sony looks good on our shirts! ;)

As people have said, we are missing out on big money with our poor sponsorship deal.

It's simple - either Carlsberg offer something near what the Mancs get (unlikely IMO) or we get another sponsor. There must be a lot of interested parties. We are the biggest club in the world after all.
