The Liverpool FC Ticket Office have released the following selling notice for our pre season friendly with Atlético de Madrid 08/08/2009:

To be played at Anfield
On Saturday 8 August 2009
Kick off 3pm
 
Tickets will be available as follows:
 
Season Ticket holders from Thursday 2 July 2009
 
Members/Fan Card holders from Thursday 9 July 2009
 
A further selling announcement will be made should there be any tickets remaining after these sales.
 
We would emphasise to all eligible applicants that no guarantee can be given that tickets will be available to all who apply.
 
All the above sales are subject to availability and while stocks last.

The entire stadium will be ticketed and the following prices will apply:
 
Main Stand, Centenary Stand, Anfield Road, Kop Grandstand
and Paddock Enclosure £20
 
Over 65s £15
 
Anfield Road one adult/child combined £30
 
Wheelchair Space and Visually Impaired £15
 
Personal Assistant free
 
Selling arrangements for Season Ticket holders and Members/Fan Card holders:
 
The above tickets will be available to purchase by personal application at the Ticket Office, by postal application, on the credit card booking line, telephone 0844 844 0844 (Overseas (0044) 870 220 2151) and online from our Online Sales Page.
 
Personal application:
 
The Fan Card must be presented when purchasing tickets at the Ticket Office window.
 
Please note supporters can purchase one ticket per Fan Card up to a maximum of six Fan Cards at the Ticket Office window and four Fan Cards on the credit card booking line. Supporters wishing to purchase a greater number of tickets need to apply by post.
 
Postal application:
 
Postal applications from Season Ticket holders and Members/Fan Card holders should include the correct remittance and stamped addressed envelope. Members/Fan Card holders must quote their Fan Card number. Postal applications should be received by Friday 10 July 2009.

Tickets may be booked online by quoting the Fan Card number and unique password. There will be a transaction charge of £2.50 per ticket.

Tickets will be available on 0844 844 0844 (Overseas (0044) 870 220 2151) and will be subject to a 50p per ticket booking fee. Fan Card numbers must be quoted and supporters will be asked to confirm the address of each applicant.

Call me a cynical old fool but... erm... to get people to pay £29 for a year's membership?

Good point, but I've always seen games like these as one for parents to take younger fans who want to get into going the game.

I just checked my purchase history for athletico and my postal application has gone through.kop 105 row 25 I'm so happy !

Anyone going to this then? Might try and get a seat in the Kop this time round.

Anyone else having problems with the online ticketing system, I keep getting error messages

I kept getting error messages, I rang customer services, and they were waiting for IT to come in to check the website, I've tried again and got my tickets, in kop106, so well happy about that.

I was trying for my mate and his kids all I was getting was that error message, got through in the end he is in block 106 as well.

I am in block 305

Bought mine at the window at 10ish this morning.  Only 8 people in front of me.  They said the lines and the internet were going ballistic.

Thank God for my E Season ticket and the 08/09 replay games I've been watching (particularly the two against the scum).  A great  way to counter the withdrawal symptoms.

Your right on the pre season friendlies and youth matches.  they don't count towards anything.  only EPL and CL matches count towards future games.  particularly CL.  EPL games on the fancard are useful for matches against Everton and The scum.  but there's no guarantee that the games you have on your card, will be the one the club list as a pre requisite for applying for tickets for the Everton or Scum game.

Not sure what the window sale policy is this year, but over the last few years there seems to be less and less available.  Why would the club bother when they can make loads of money by making us phone up a 1000 times only to be cut off!

Anyway, back on topic! looking forward to this one.  Hope most of the team get a run out, especially as i'm taking my 6 year old.

The window sales policy will be the same as last year.

Last minute rearranged midweek game, or early rounds of a cup games the club will suddenly remember their local support and allow window sales.  Otherwise, it will be a case of not a lot.

Took 2 hours and 26 minutes, £18 of pay as you go credit, a count down from 50 in the queue and 10 minutes as number 1 to be able to finally say "I'm off to Anfield". Get in. Well pleased, been buzzing at work this afternoon. Four seat's in KOP/103. WOOHOOO!!

I just got a ticket for my 6 year old cousin and uncle they have never been before and I got them in th kop.great idea this friendly to get families all going together cause usually I have to go on my own travelling from Hertfordshire. Can't wait.

Yeah, it's my first Liverpool game of any sort so I am well pleased to get on the Kop. Been a Red for 25ish years so not bad going. Can't wait, hopefully Silva will be getting a run out.

Have to say though my emotions are all over the place now, one minute near hysteria with excitement then panic sets in about the logistics of getting there.

It's been a few years since I've been to Liverpool so can any of you tell me, will the soccer buses be running from Sandhills as it states on the official sight? and if not what's the parking like at the ground?

Parking not good. Not sure about the soccer bus, but if not you can just get a 14 down Breck Road and follow the red tide!

Mate your better just getting the train then taxi from City Centre thats your best bet mate. Sounds good should be a good game for your first ?

Ok peoples it's not long off this match and I need some input into the best way to get there.

As I've mentioned in earlier posts I'm coming in from the Ormskirk area so if I get the train from there do I come into town and get a bus out again or can I get a train nearer to the ground and walk.

I understand from Gow that if I get the bus from town it's the no.14 to Breck Rd.

Also I believe you meet at the The Cabbage before the game so what time usually are you all there and where is it as it's about 10yrs since I was last anywhere near Anfield.

We can arrange to meet up with you there, and just confirm nearer the time and swap mobile numbers in case you get lost or whatever. Does that sound OK?

I love the Cabbage, it's amazing how quickly you get served when theres like 5000 people in the bar & car park  (was that too excessive) NAH!!!!!!!!!

The bus stop where you get off the number 14 bus by the Cabbage pub, is outside a sunbed shop and by a funeral directors. On the opposite side of the road, there's a church with a very tall steeple, Debs.

The red arrow marks the bus stop you get off the bus.

Hi All, I'm coming up for the game (can't wait)!!  I'm leaving hubby at home and bringing a mate who's never been to Liverpool before, so we're going to set off early to spend the morning in town first.

There are loads of side streets around Anfield to park, especially if you park a little way out and walk, which I prefer to do and mingle with all the fans on the way to the ground.

If not there are usually quite a few car parks changing about a fiver which isn't bad at all.

Thanks MsG, we'll look out for one of the car parks for a fiver, I hate parking in the side streets coz I'm never convinced whether I'm in permit spaces or not, and I don't want to get caught out!!

I'm absolutely gutted.  After all the planning and excitement of finally getting to Anfield for this match I can't make it after all.  Don't worry though folks there won't be an empty seat in the Kop, I've managed to sell my ticket to a mate at work, (face value of course).

Bless her, she's getting her fella to drive her from Mansfield, drop her at the ground then he's got to wander round town while she's enjoying the match.  Good man
