Speaking of uwKingsley, I watched Sexy Beast again the other night, and I still think he rescued that film from mediocrity with an absolutely stunning (if a bit over the top)
      performance.

Got to be Ray Winston for me, probably the best role I've seen Ben Kinhsley in but Ray steals it .

Tarantino's favourite movie. Just watched this trailer after reading this thread.

Gravity is fantastic and one of the few films that should be seen in 3D (Much like Hugo in that 3D adds to rather than takes away).

      Rush though is dreadful.
Really don't get why people like it so much.

If you are a F1 fan and know the story already then it just comes across as numb and cliched.

If you know nothing about F1 and want to see what F1 is all about the i feel it does very little to convey it's true nature.

Poor script, poor acting on the whole and the direction by the normally steady hand of Ron Howard is tiresome.

The only comparison to senna is that both are about f1.

Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters. Its Harry Potter with mythology. Average
The Worlds end is quite good if you enjoy that kind of humor. Loved the sarcasm
Woverine I considered quite poor, they could have done so much better
Jobs was awful, bad script, i hate it that it ruined such a good story.
Loved R.I.P.D, not the best story, but highly entertaining, and the action sequences are great. 3D adds a lot if you have it.
The Internship is average at best

Think anyone will either love or hate The Internship. I had heard it was dreadful before I watched but I enjoyed it. Not going to be in anyone's top 100 films but an enjoyable watch none the less.

R.I.P.D. was brilliant, another enjoyable watch.

I agree about Jobs though, they had the chance to make a fantastic film but really just tried to portray Jobs as an asshole without focusing much on his genius in my opinion. Read the biography and he was an ass but there's no denying his genius.

Don Jon is next on my list. Joseph Gordon Levitt directs and stars in it; he also wrote it.

      Dancin' Thru The Dark (1990).

I was probably just too young when this came out for it to even be on my radar, though I expect a few of you more senior in years than myself may well recall it.  Only added to my lovefilm list because I remembered my old man had it on long play VHS tape (the tab removed!) with a couple of films I've only recently watched, Marathon Man and Flashdance.  It's got a really good soundtrack and a very nice cast.  It suffers a bit from not  really expanding enough on its stage roots, though I'm am going to keep an eye out in case the play ever gets an airing round my way, but remains enjoyable and engrossing all he way through.

      Anyone else seen The Counselor?

Came out of it and all I could say was 'dafuq?'

Thought it was terrible. Took an hour for even a storyline to somewhat develop, no reasoning behind it. The scenes/story didn't tie in together, just awful especially considering the cast.

Watched Seven Psychopaths the other day. I thought it would be right up my street but I was actually a bit disappointed. It had some amusing dialogue in parts but I think they were trying to make a Coen brothers film and didn't quite pull it off. The twists were a bit predictable as well. Decent cast and well acted but the story was so so.

Good film if a little on the bleak side but an interesting story.

      Just watched Nativity this evening.

Wasn't expecting much but me and the missus laughed throughout and the kids in this were hilarious.

      Proper feel good Christmas film.

Just watched Silver Linings Playbook or the first time and really enjoyed it.

I know Jennifer Lawrence won a lot of plaudits for her performance in this, and she was good, I thought Bradley Cooper was the stand out in this.

First time I've enjoyed watching one of my all time favourites, De Niro, in ages.

Just watched the Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was; nice heartwarming story.

Watched Lone Survivor with Mark Walhberg, based on a true story in Afghanistan. Very good movie IMO, well worth a watch.

Also watched Dallas Buyers Club, with Matthew Mcconaughey loosely based on a true story of a man with AIDS during 80's circa who is given 30 days to live, worth a watch.

Yeah, Lone Survivor is definitely worth a watch. Got Dallas Buyers Club, but not watched it yet. Watching The Wolf of Wallstreet at the moment. Presumably McConaughey made it around the same time as Dallas Buyers Club as he looks like he just got out of Belsen.

Wolf of Wallstreet well worth a watch , just to see what real money can buy and how low people can sink when they have it .... or want it. Incredible performance by DiCaprio.
