What a f***in let down Alien Covenant was . Just as well i didn't get my hopes up , FFS  Ridley want were you thinking ?

Now only Dunkirk and possibly Bladerunner to look forward to but won't get my hopes up.

f***in Movie industry is in a f***in freefall  with it all being about CGI and pretty faces , reboots , rehash and remakes.

      Just watched The Young Offenders.

Great wee Irish film and hilarious in parts. Well worth a watch and is in Netflix.

Saw that as well, and quite enjoyed it.
As you say, some very funny parts, and has a certain charm to it as well.

      Watched "Life"
Good cast, decent story, and yet it somehow contrived to be mediocre AND a bit gripping at the same time.

      Worth a watch.

      I'd watch it again.
      I think that's a reasonable recommendation.

I'd be interested to know your opinion after watching though. :)

I'll definitely give it a go at some point.

Although it's going to take a special sci fi film to top Arrival for me of the recent ones I've watched.

      Great film.

Seen trailers to this and it does look very good, like the premise of a lot of it being set to music.

Want to go and see this, heard nothing but good things from everyone who has been to see it.

Saw this opening night here as well, absolute belter of a film. To do a war film on such a subject, do it without the visual blood and guts violence that some do, but still to have the same feeling of dread and horror at times - masterpiece cinema. Visually beautiful, stunning sound, great performances despite the fact they were all smaller parts in a bigger picture, and not without some of those classic Nolan pieces of deception with his use of time.

Must see on the biggest screen possible, agreed.

Seperate film, but finally watched 'Drive' last night. F**k, what a film that is. Stylish as F**k, brutally violent at times, but man, great film. Ryan Gosling definitely has some versatility.

Hahahaha, I enjoyed it :) Wasn't too happy with the end reveal of a certain character, but overall, it was a lot better than the Amazing Spiderman and and Sam Raimi films!

It's the music that makes Dunkirk.... F**k me it had me nervous as feck the whole way through! Never felt that tense in a movie.. also gotta be one of the loudest movies around? The sound of bullets and the planes had me flinching the whole way through.

See some french press complaining about the lack of french involvement,  considering the number of their trooos involved,  suppose it is better than the guy at usa today who complained about the lack of black and women actors in dunkirk
