I think if it had been 336/5, this day would've belonged to us no doubt.  But Freddie played a poor shot, when there was only 5 odd overs left in the day.  Granted Prior couldn't do much with his delivery, but I think these two late wickets could just rejuvanate the Aussies.  With Swanny and Broady I reckon we should still aim for 380.

The day had it's up's and downs for England. Still if the tail enders can put another 50 runs then it wont be to bad. A couple of quick wickets when Australia bat and it's game on.

      Disappointing day for England.

Most of the lads got starts just to lose their wicket again. KP's was just a joke, what the F**k was he thinking? Strauss either should of been hooking or ducking, rather than neither an gloving it up to the slips. Ravi was playing well and got outdone by a slower ball, but he'd already been caught out by one earlier so it proves he didn't learn his lesson. Cook was out to a great catch, but as I said earlier it was still a loose shot from him. Collingwood, looked settled just to edge one to the keeper.

Matty Prior and Freddie looked like they'd see us through to the end of day 1 but wasn't to be the case.

I think it was much more a case of England giving wickets away than the Aussies bowling us out. But they still took their chances, so I suppose credit to them.

Best part of the day was the England fans shouting "owzat" before dinner when we were blocking, all because the Aussies appealed for a LBW then a catch off the same ball and didn't get either

So who won? Who do England play in the next round?

       :f_tongueincheek:

I just can't get into cricket. I do get the banter between the English and the Aussies when it comes to the Ashes though.

How come there isn't any Aussies giving the English some banter in here lately?

Because their captain looks like George W Bush. I think that's why.

Yeah well in, bag us while we're away.

KP? King Piss-head more like, what a shot. Bopara made to look like a real fool there, too! Definitely earned the favourites tag in that session, the Poms ::)

Even day in the end. I think the form of Kat, Johnson and Hughes will come through with the bat. Punter needs a good start, as does Hussey and North but getting that good start will require some luck and perseverance.

England could have batted us out of the test already but again, failed to do so. Oh well :)

Not a bad opening day that.  If we can stick another 50 or so on then with the tail enders I'll be pleased with that after our 150 opening 4 years ago.

Then skittle the Aussies out in time for lunch. Nice.
