      Reds Players on Loan 2009/10
      Jul 16, 2009 05:45:20 am
      Well with the season coming to a start in about a month I thought it would be nice to have a fresh thread for any information, news or reviews about some of the Liverpool players who will be away from the club getting some experience. So far the following loan deals we got line up are;

Nikolay Mihaylov - FC Twente 2009/10 season
Ryan Flynn - Falkirk 2009/10 season

Rumors are going around that Bouzanis will be going out on loan to Wrexham and Cardiff are interested in taking Plessis out on a season loan in the Championship. We will have to see and wait.

The Plessis deal is likely to only happen if Cardiff lose Joe Ledley, which is more than likely properly because he's too good for Championship football.

Posted this in the wrong old thread last night:

Mihaylov just saved FC Twente tonight. FC Twente played against Sporting Lisbon tonight for Champions League qualifications. In the 24th minute Boschker, Twente's 1st keeper, got send off with a red card. Mihaylov came on and stopped the penalty. Mihaylov played a very good game, making several good saves. The game ended in 0-0, which is very good considering they were playing away and with just 10 players most of the game. The return is next tuesday.

For anyone that's interested, here's a short recap of the game without commentary:

He'll be playing again wednesday though, in the CL return against Sporting, since Boschker is suspended for that one.
I'll be watching it, so I'll give an update after. (I think Twente are title contenders for the dutch league this year btw)

      Cheers for the video.

Have to say - pretty impressed with Mihaylov.  Looks to be a decent shot stopper and looks like he has a bit of Reina's athleticism.  It's a shame Reina's so young - but that Mihaylov definitely deserves to be playing first team football rather than warming our bench.

Not so sure - he's only five years younger than Pepe, he could be waiting around for ten years or more.

From the video he seems a great option for us to have on the bench, but I don't know if that will always be enough for him?

Well I can only speak for myself, but he has a tremendous respect for Rafa and seems to be loving his time here.

      He is committed and talented.

I don't see why he'd leave, or get dropped, so in a nutshell, yes. I reckon he'll be here another ten years.

Yeah, Twente played tonight already. Mihaylov played very well, very confident and calm like in last game. Unfortunately, after being 1-0 ahead for most of the game, Sporting made the 1-1 in injury time, so they're out of the CL, and into the EL.

Boschker is a legend at FC Twente, played at the club since 1989 so it is hard to break through when a club and supporter favorite is in your position.

Well it looks like after a poor showing that San Jose will be sent out on loan this season rather than take the 4th CB spot. He is going back to Spain with Athletic Bilbao where they have a option to buy him at the end of the season for 2.4m euros. Here is the link but they are in Spanish though.

      DEFENDER SEALS LOAN SWITCH

      Liverpoolfc.tv 21 August 2009

Youngster Robbie Threlfall today joined Northampton Town on a month's loan.
The left-back, one of the stars of our 2006 and 2007 Youth Cup wins, will stay will the League One outfit until September 19.

I dont think hes going to make it at Anfield, not with Insua & Aurelio now and Buchtmann coming through.

Well it looks like after a poor showing that San Jose will be sent out on loan this season rather than take the 4th CB spot. He is going back to Spain with Athletic Bilbao where they have a option to buy him at the end of the season for 2.4m euros. Here is the link but they are in Spanish though.

Just want to see the youngsters who were bought with such preposed 'potential' actually succeed. Either develop them properly or scout more intensively. Hope rafa's backroom revolution pays off

Mihaylov has told Bulgarian media that he was close to moving to PSV. Apparently there was already an agreement between Liverpool and PSV, but Twente refused to cooperate. There wasn't enough time, but he expects to move to PSV in january now. PSV would buy him for 1.5 million euros, while Liverpool would have the option to buy him back within 3 years for 3 million euros.

He's got a man's brain in a teenagers body.  This will toughen him up with the reserves only getting 18 games getting a whole season under his belt will do him good.  He'll do well in that league which will hopefully go some way to help him regain the confidence he lost last year.  He'll replace Voronin next year IMO.

As long as nemeth plays 20+ games and gets battled hardened and gets a few goals to get some valuable experience and confidence then great. Just hope its not another LFC player with 'potential' who after a loan spell is shipped out the back door

Good to see Nemeth is getting a lot of playing time.

People wanted him to stay in a kind of super-sub role, and whilst I understand that, surely getting all this match time at a higher level is going to improve him more than the odd ten minutes at the end of a game for us?

Just need to make sure to bring him back home at the end of the season!

I have a friend who happens to be an AEK fan and he is delighted to have Nemeth there, says he is one of the best players he has ever seen in Greece. I was gutted when he went out on loan but we have to look at the bigger picture, he'll come back a hardened player.

Nemeth at the moment seems our brightest prospect. He's doing very well over there in Greece and will come back to us a much more experienced, better striker.

      Definitely one to watch.

From the little I have seen of him (mainly for Hungary's U20 and U21 side) I think he will make the step up next year.

The Plessis deal is likely to only happen if Cardiff lose Joe Ledley, which is more than likely properly because he's too good for Championship football.

if hes to gd for championship football then why the hell isnt he playing i dont get it another talent dying in the reserves

Just found this from The People.  If it happens - is it a good move or bad?

Personally I'd prefer to see him loaned to one of the better Championship sides than drop down to League 1.

Leeds United want to take Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing on loan.

The 21-year-old Scouser, who has captained the club at youth level, is considered a big prospect at Anfield and boss Rafa Benitez is keen to get him out on loan.

Elland Road boss Simon Grayson is interested and hopes to seal a deal

      Darby set for Swindon
10th Mar 2010 - Media Watch  Sky Sports

Skysports.com understands that Liverpool defender Stephen Darby is set to join Swindon on loan.

The 21-year-old full-back has been tipped to become a Reds star in the future and has already featured in the first team this season.

But manager Rafa Benitez is keen for the youngster to gain regular playing time for the remainder of the campaign and that would not be on offer at Anfield.

League One promotion hopefuls Swindon have therefore moved quickly as manager Danny Wilson aims to add what could prove decisive quality at a critical period.

It is understood that Darby is on his way to the County Ground for talks on Wednesday afternoon, with Swindon keen to reinforce their squad after taking only one point from their last three games.

The former England Under 19 international made his full Reds debut in the UEFA Champions League defeat to Fiorentina in December and marked the occasion with an error that demonstrated his naivety when gifting Alberto Gilardino the wining goal.

But Liverpool-born Darby made an impressive return to the first team in the initial FA Cup draw with Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

I was hoping to see Stephen Darby get a bit more playing time this season and seeing as we've had so much trouble with the right back position, you'd have thought Darby would have had a chance.

I'm guessing Rafa thinks he's still not ready for full first team action, so maybe a loan move might be good for him to gain some experience.

Good luck Stephen lad and make sure you come back to us.
