Crazy but not a good race that one.

All came from Max avoiding punishment in Brazil IMO.

Not normally a F1 fan but this appears to be a time when the sport is actually exciting

Watched yesterday and did see how much whining Hamilton does over the radio - can’t stand the man and it seems that he doesn’t like to be challenged on the track , didn’t he whine like a bi*ch when Rosberg was winning as well.

As Hamilton also drives for the Germans and the Mclaren is miles away then hopefully see the crazy Dutch guy win 😂

There is no chance of that happening. They'll be too afraid of the repercussions. And no penalty keeps all the suspense alive, which is good for them, money-wise.
They'll claim they don't want to interfere in the championship fight, even though NOT taking action is effectively interfering.

Looks like we were both right ( so to speak) he did get another penalty but low and behold the ten seconds he got doesn’t effect the race and avoids penalty in Abu Dhabi.

Both teams are based in England.
      Both tems are foreign owned.

      Mercedes - German
      Red Bull - Austrian

Max isn't so much crazy as aggressive, with no respect for the other driver.
This weekend was an absolute farce and the way the stewards approached it doesn't leave me
filled with much confidence for the finale this weekend.

As it lines up now Hamilton looks very much the 1990 Prost to Verstappen's Senna.

that track leaves a lot to be desired if you add the F2 race the red flags safety cars etc make it not a race but a series of events.
But I guess money talks and now on to the next sporting hot bed.
I hope Mercedes question the Stewards actions and penalties I cant remember a driver receiving so many with so little effect. They should have pulled him out he was a danger to himself and others on the track

It’s prob made the sport more exciting for the casual viewer - yesterday had people watching it that prob wouldn’t have normally sat and watched an F1 race start to finish

DTS has made the sport way more popular thanks to casual Netflix viewers,
so the drama of this year will definitley be a draw for those viewers new to the sport.

Masi though leaves much to be desired and I miss, and I think the sport misses, Charlie Whiting.

I don’t know the ins and outs of it all but did seem strange that he was asking drivers to give up places etc but then there was added on penalties et.

Then the crazy Dutch guy slowing down as requested - all mental

      Spot on.

I actually saw an interesting idea this morning. Instead of giving Max a pointless 10s penalty, they could have done something a little bit "out of the box": reducing his practice time in the next race. It's apparently something that's done in lower categories.

Helmut Marko saying Red Bull is not treated the same as Mercedes...  I guess he's right in a way. They get a lot more leeway.

That was a failure of communication on the Stewards part.
They should have either informed both teams together,
or informed the following driver first.

Telling Red Bull and then walking over to Mercedes was far too slack.

So Verstappen slows down as required- Hamilton goes into the back of him ( there seemed to be space to the left of Verstappen) -then Verstappen is penalised for doing what the race controller asked - all strange

      "Penalised" with a nothing penalty.
A poor showing all round this weekend from all involved,
and this is what happens when the Stewards aren't decisive enough.

Verstappen handed a place to Hamilton earlier and was too cute in how he did it.
Told to do it again but also told by Red Bull to do it strategically.

He tries to give the spot to Hamilton before the DRS,
so that he can immediately pass Hamilton again.

Hamilton either realises this or isn't informed by the team in time,
at which point he'd be reluctant to pass Verstappen because of what happened already.

Doing a deal with Red Bull on the grid drop for Verstappen.

It was an interesting weekend but not for the right reasons.
