Let's Reduce The Prem League To 10 Teams

Chelsea
Arsenal
Everton
Aston Villa
Fulham
Tottenham
Westham
Man City

Every team meets 4 times- twice home and twice away 36 matches instead of 38 gives a 2 week winter break which all the managers are screaming out for. And great matches every week instead of the dullfest many of the games provide.

One team to get demoted each season- one team promoted from the championship

Lets face it, the bottom half are just making up the numbers

What does everyone think?

So that way it would mean that at least 30 teams would play in the Championship in the 1st season. At least 5 teams would need to get relegated from the Championship, and only 1 would get promoted. That way the lower leagues would get overfilled with all the clubs being relegated and only a few clubs going up. It wouldn't work.

What about 5 leagues

prem league (A)  one team relegated
prem league (B)  one team promoted  three teams relegated
championship    three teams promoted three teams relegated
league 1          normal system
league 2          normal system         

It'll be like the SPL then, which is a s**t league. The Prem is class leave it alone

There should be a super league with the likes of R.Madrid, Barca, Inter, Liverpool etc.

To create another league would be sooo much trouble. And what about Europa League and Champions League? If there would be 2 Premier leagues, that would mean that teams from both leagues should play in Europe. And if only prem league a teams could play in Europe, that would mean that 6-7 teams gets to play in Europe, 2-3 teams get nothing, and 1 team gets relegated?

There is such a league. It's called UEFA Champions League

I think he means like a league standing  1st 2nd etc  no finals etc.

Keep it the way it is, i enjoy the meetings with lower teams (Derby last season anyone?) although this year i think if we had had that league we would have won it right? Mmm food for thought

i think the prem is fine as it is... you can say the others are making up the numbers, but when its towards the end of the season you see some of the lower teams pull of miracle results and it can be exciting to watch as a neutral.

Definitley! The relegation battle is very entertaining! Can't say the lower half are just making up the numbers.. Bit offensive that.

Might as well jump on the SPL bandwagon to bring the Rangers/Celtic to the Prem.

Leave it alone, i say. Biggest and best league in the world, doesnt need to be tinkered with. Nice concept though and it may happen in the distant future.

The prem is great as it is ...but I think we can reduce it to 18 teams .,..al the other teams besides the mancs and chavs !

In fairness, that is a very competitive league. There'd be no more sh*te matches, of the caliber of like Stoke vs Bolton.

Then we should have all the football teams in a single league.

The premiership is fine as it is !! by far the most entertaining league of all ( which is why we are the envy of europe and Mr Platini ) the lower half of the league plays a big part by making the top teams alter their gameplan to suit ,after all if we only played 10 teams we would stagnate in our tactics ...leave well alone please !!

I don't understand this topic hasn't the premiership been the force of all leagues around the world why would you want to change it ?
