It's not impossible to win the league, it's just highly unlikely.

With 15 games gone, Chelsea and United have lost 3 games, Arsenal 4 games and ourselves 5.
Manchester City have beaten Chelsea and Arsenal and was unlucky to lose to Man United.
I'm sure Spurs and Villa can take points off Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United and Man City as they have against us.

Interesting fact is, we have played Chelsea, Man United, Man City, Aston Villa and Spurs with Arsenal coming next.

Arsenal - Aston Villa and us.
Chelsea - Aston Villa
Man United - Aston Villa
Aston Villa - Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea
Manchester City - Tottenham
Tottenham - Man City

Well, look at it and everyone of them is bound to drop points and it's just up to us to take advantage. Don't forget that that there's still the reverse leg and with just 2 defeats for any of them and two wins for us, things will look much, much better!

We have 24 points,we need around 90 points to lift the title,which means we need to win 22 out of 23 games to do it,it aint gonna happen.

In the back of my mind there is still a part of me that keeps nagging away saying we could win it.

Then I look at how we've been playing and start an argument in my own head (easily done!)

Personally I hope that the more the gap is reduced, the more I get nagged until it's swarming my head with optimism, just like at the start of the season!!

I don't think 90 points will be needed to win the league.  If Chelsea go on to get something like that then they will win the league at a canter.

All depends on how Chelsea go on now after Man City.

Agree. A bit of pressure can really change a team's performances and confidence level.

Our target for the moment, realistically, should be catching the team directly above us in the table, and going from there.

Whilst its still plausible, thats exactly what it is, no need to throw in the towel yet, the lads just need to get their fingers out of their arses, stop feeling sorry for themselves and go out and play every game as if its their last.

Being a realist, I'll be honest and say no, not on current form. It's looking very much like a two-horse race, and at the moment, we're out of the title race. Our priority should be to get back into the top four first then think about how to get to the top. No matter what I'm still sticking to that glimmer of hope.

What game to get kicking again then against Arsenal. They've got their star player, van Persie out at the moment and that's a huge plus.

Got to agree with you RLB, the lads have to play like it's their last, they have to play like we're at Istanbul. It's that crucial.

Hopefully tonight will give us a view to the rest of the season.

A realistic position for us to be finishing this season is 3rd or 4th. Anything above that we've overachieved, anything below that we've underachieved.

We've had sh*t loads of injuries so far, vitals players missing or out of form, yet we're still only one win away from being in 3rd.

My fear isn't just for this season though. If Rafa stays or not, no manager at this club is going to have a hope in hell of challenging for the league as everyone wants and seems to expect.

City are spending massively and are only going to improve, Arsenal will soon start reaping the financial benefits of the new ground, Chelsea will always spend while Roman's there and both Spurs and Villa are both spending to catch up and to try and break the top 4 monopoly.

We won't win the league if Rafa stays everyone - and even if we get a "better" manager in, we won't win. Because Chelsea are too far ahead. They won't drop that many points.

With Rafa as manager I don't even think we'll get 4th this season. I just can't see it at the moment because we are playing so much worse than Villa, Citeh and Spurs. If just one of those teams really kicks into gear (probably Citeh) then we are fecked.

If we get new owners with lots of money,and suppose they change the manager,it would not necessarily put us back 4 or 5 years, look at mourinho at Chelsea, won it 1st year and won it again the next, so it can be done,you just need lots of cash which we don't have,and will never have under these 2 clowns
