Odds to win prem league-are they fair?
      Aug 05, 2009 12:14:51 pm
      Chelsea    2-1
      Man Utd   2-1
      Liverpool   3-1
      Arsenal     8-1
      Man City   10-1

Those are the Skybet current odds on the title.

The question is   Are they fair?

NOT  Who is going to win the title?

but please debate whether the odds are fair and accurate in your opinion

I think we should be shorter odds with the mancs and arsenal longer odds.

Personally I think it should be

      Chelsea  7-4
      Liverpool 5-2
      Man Utd 5-2
      Arsenal  20-1
      Man City 20-1

I think Chelsea have done best out of transfer market, and were unlucky not to knock barca out of champions league after 3 penalties were turned down. Also had unstable management last season.
With Man Utds losses I prefer Liverpool as second fav but put them on the same line because of the recent loss of Alonso, and also think SAF may not have finished buying, after pocketing 80 million from Ronaldo.
Man City and Arsenal are way too short with skybet, they both would have to be long odds.  Even 20-1 is probably too short.

Bloody hell, I've never seen such short odds for an EPL title race!

When you think about how the past 6 seasons have panned out the points required to win the title are very high, allowing for very few mistakes. There are really only 3 teams that would be capable of maintaining the consistency required to chalk up the minimum 85-90 points required. (Chelsea-Liverpool-Man Utd)

With the addition of Aquilani, another 20 million player I have reviewed my odds to

      Liverpool 2-1
      Chelsea  2-1
      Man Utd 5-2
