      Vignal Wanted
      Jun 18, 2009 03:06:54 pm
Lens defender Gregory Vignal claims Porto, Stoke and Montpellier have expressed an interest in his services.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Southampton and is destined to be on the move again this summer.

The former Liverpool full-back is set to be out of contract next month and has revealed that he could be set for a third spell in England.

"Porto and Stoke City have made enquiries," he told France Football.

"I'm waiting to see concrete offers.

"The Portuguese club have followed me for several months now. They met my agent last winter.

"I'm not worrying about it. I'm on holiday, I'm waiting. You have to be patient. The market's not moving much."

Vignal began his career at Montpellier, before securing a move to Liverpool in 2000, and has admitted that he would be tempted to head back to the newly-promoted side.

      Priority
"Montpellier remains my priority because it's my town," he continued.

"I lived there for 10 years and I know everyone at the club.

"The coach, Rene Girard, has called Lens, but they have been focused on other players these past few days.

"The ball is in the Montpellier directors' court and they know that, with regards to the contract, there would not be any problem. I would leave for free, there would not be a transfer fee to pay.

"The advantage also is that I can play in several places, as full-back, on the left wing and also a bit in midfield.

"For my transfer, I'm waiting for an answer from (vice-president) Laurent Nicollin."

While a summer switch elsewhere appears to be the more likely option for Vignal, over the coming weeks he has not ruled out the possibility of extending his stay at Lens, with the club having clambered back into the top tier of French football.

"Maybe nothing will happen with any club," he added.

"With promotion to Ligue 1, they could look again at our contracts.

      "I'm not under pressure."

Good luck to him I always rated him :soccer_h4h:
