PS3 v Xbox 360

I'm going to have to pick the lads' brains now. I've only ever played sports games like F1 and Fifa plus GTA and Lego games on my PS2. I need to expand my gaming experience. Can you all recommend games?

Both are great consoles, it goes down to price: 360 hammers the PS3 there, online capabilities: PS3 is wireless and free, however 360's live is immense and much better than the PlayStation Store (I am not going to comment on the PlayStation's Home as I have not seen it), Games: I was thinking about purchasing a PlayStation 3 because of the likes of MGS4 and Tekken then it becoame known to me that MGS will soon be out for the 360 (which I own) and I didn't like it anyway when I played it and Tekken is apparently also coming out on 360 and Final Fantasy 13 is coming out on 360 so I feel it wins on games. Future incentives: the 360 has already started the possibility  to download films straight to the HDD now which is great and they have a patented system that is basically iTunes for films and the PS3 will not be getting this so therefore for me 360 all the way

P.S. It's great listening to music while playing games which the PS3 has been promising for the past year and as far as I know they have not delivered

I've got an Xbox, the games i'm getting are Gears of War 2, Call of Duty 5 and Left 4 Dead.

About the price, what would the Xbox 360 be pricewise if it had a built in Blu ray player. Add to that, for the 360 you need all these add ons which have to be specifically for the 360, eg. webcam. Whereas the ps3 just use the webcam you bought a year ago meant for the PC. PS. Im using my wireless PC keyboard on the PS3 to type this message.
About downloading videos straight onto the HDD. That has been possible on the ps3 for ages (if the video is of playable format, eg mp4)

Re Films the US already had a film rental section where you can doanload normal or blu-ray films direct onto you PS3, once there you'll also be able to stream via a PSP if you have one, as I said its US only at the moment but should be in Eruope early/mid 09

Sony have made 3 games consoles and microsoft are relatively new to the game with only 2 to date. So there for sony have had a few more years to get it right and in my view they suck. I have played the new Gta and Cod World At War on both consoles in HI-DEF and the 360 rocks!!!!!!!

PS3 is superior in every way.

For me, the best thing about the PS3 at the moment is that I can watch Live Liverpool FC match streams on it. And, living down here in Oz, this means I don't have to sit uncomfortably in front of the computer watching an LFC game. Now I just relax and watch it on the Tele. I don't know if you could do that on the XBOX 360.

This year, the PS3 is releasing something similar to NetFlix. But already, you can view and download movies from various websites straight onto the HDD.

Anyone mention that the 'Trophies' thing on PS3 was taken off XBox's idea of Gamescore?

I love the 360, and anyway before buying the 360, i went on many sites to see which was better and in most was 360 getting better reviews.

You have not played them on both.

I have however and they are the exact same only I get to use a decent controller on the PS3. Have fun playing Killzone 2, LBP, God of War III..... O wait, you cant

The controller for the PS3 is awful. It feels like I could snap it, my hands just engulf it and those marshmallow triggers aren't an improvement on the godawful buttons that kept getting stuck.
And that's all that really matter. I left the shop with a 360 and my integrity intact.

Enough said.

But it's not. My thumbs clash when I try to use both of the analogue sticks. The sticks have no resistance and as such it takes me (a heavy handed oaf) half an hour to aim at a target or something. By which time I'm dead, unless I'm playing a 360 user.

And the 360 controller doesn't feel flimsy and weak. It feels durable and robust.
