LFC: We've spent £20 Million this summer

Surprised nobody picked up on this from the Times yesterday.

Christian Purslow, LFC's new Managing Director hired earlier this summer by the club's owners.

“We’ve spent pretty much the same as we’ve spent every year over the past four or five years.

 “We’ve spent about £20 million more than we’ve generated, which is what we expected. We’ve bought players the manager wanted to buy and sold players the manager wanted to sell and it has cost us almost to the penny what we expected it to cost.

“In fact, some of our competitors haven’t spent any money and we have. Spending isn’t the panacea everyone thinks it is, but we’ve spent £20 million and that’s real money. There are lots of costs associated with buying players and extending players that all go into transfer funds.”

 

I'm at a loss to understand what calculator they have been using at Anfield.

Anybody like to try and cook the figures and work out how Benitez has spent £20 Million?

Maybe he thinks paying off debts is spending money?

I suppose some of the player sales must have been used to refinance the loan. I know Rafa was apparently promised every penny he earned from player sales but we can't believe everything these Yanks say after all. I'm sure RBS wanted some proof that we could could come up with the money needed to pay back the installments.

I put it in the transfer speculation this morning, it is an outrageous claim and Purslow would want to be very careful the avenue he pursues. The Americans mightn't give a sh#t because they are over in American but he is here and attends all the games. Many more statements like that and he might find himself becoming the focus for the fans anger.

The figures are plain for all of us to calculate ourselves, we needn't hear a word that comes out of these cu*ts again because that's what they are. Purslow - so what if you have a season ticket, I see it as you are another face for the Yanks to take advantage of every dire situation we fall into.

Maybe he's included the full five year cost of Fernando Torres' contract or Glen Johnson's contract. But that's nonsense - that isn't paid up front - it's paid every week from the club's operating income.

In: Total = £37.5M

Out: Total = £51.5 Million

Add to those figures, a brown nose, ass sucking, yankee loving, ass-hole managing director, Christian Purslow (who's surname says it all btw) then take away all credibility and you're left with an overall 'spend' of £20m - simple really.  

The Keane money has obviously vanished into thin air.

From that we've spent 36.6 million and brought in 36.75 million. So I can't find anyway that we've spent an extra 20 mill than we've brought it.

He sickened me as well the other day at the Champions League Draw when he was asked would there be any transfer dealings before the Tuesday deadline. He sniggered at the question and said don't bank on it. He is smarmy he actually reminds me of a politician. For some one has his own Equity buisness purslow is not very good at basic mathmatics, the only thing I can assume we have spent 20 million from in his statement is this "There are lots of costs associated with buying players and extending players that all go into transfer funds.”, but I'm still not stupid enough to believe that has cost us 20 million, correct me if I'm wrong and I am stupid ?
