Repulsive tackle, and my lord what an absolutely shocking leg break. Put that in some action flick, and one would say it was far too unbelievable...
The punishment should have been a ban for the rest of the season for the offending player, not some extended holiday amounting to no more than eleven games!...that was horrible. I hope Wasilewski gets to play again.

      Still cant believe it.

Brought chills down my spine when the camera showed his reaction after looking at the damage being done to his leg.

That Wintsel idiot should be banned for life no place for that in any F***ing sport.

      Don't think I'll watch it.

I'm always scared incase this stuff happens to me. It's such an easy mistake to make, too.

Just worked up the courage to watch that, made my sister and brother watch it first and their faces said it all. That was awful, worst I've ever seen. Feel so sorry for that player, must be terrible for him if thats his career over, which looking at that it probably is.

I can't. I can't bring myself to do it. I own about 10 dvd's regarding the events of 911 and I can watch them because I'm fascinated with history and the legacy left to future generations. But I can't watch that.

If your abit curious though...(don't read on if your not!)

Just picture your big toe touching your knee on the same leg.

EDIT: Now I know I'll never watch it. And why anyone would want to is, quite frankly, beyond me.

Witsel issues an apology, he claimed to be a good guy.

Good guys dont do that, bud. Accident or not.

Couldn't watch past the first replay.

Absolutely horrific. I wish I didn't see even the little bit I watched.

      Career ending challenge that.

Sometimes players break their legs after suffering heavy tackles, but this reminds of the Roy Keane incident.

You can excuse bad tackles, bad slide tackles.

But these kind of Roy Keane-esque stamps have no place in football. That's probably closer to assault.

horrific stuff have watched it many times not because I am a sadist but because people on another forum were saying it looks worse for Witsel than what it actually is. I think he was over the ball and stamped down not in the same league as Keane on Haaland but still a stamp. Worst I have seen.

What is a mystery is the fact that he in some way disputed the decision??? Instead of using his foot if he had produced a lump hammer and whacked the lad on the leg it would have been the same because the intended movement of the foot could not have had any effect on the ball. Given the fact that a professional footballer can exert massive pressure P.S.I. with his foot the lad is well entitled to claim damages off the thug who assaulted him.

Watched the Belgium v Spain game last night and the commentators reckon he could be back in training in 11 months. Good luck to him and I hope this doesn't permanently affect the rest of his career.

Witsel has been suspended for 8 games as a result.

      Nowhere near enough IMO.

I think he should be suspended for at least the amount of time that Wasilewski is out 8 games is despicable.

Christ, that's a bad injury. I've seen many a leg break, especially one from WWF/E days with Sid Vicious (If your curious, youtube it, not going to post it on here) but that looks awful.

Hopefully, he can be like Eduardo and make a comeback from it, no-one deserves to have an career ended like that.
