      Great start... 3-0 to United.

      Maybe we should really get behind the English teams.  ;)

      I do have to say it was some start for Man Utd.  I could only dream of that sort of football at Ibrox.

      4-0 now!

      I've just watched the first half of this one. It's been a cracking game.

      Morientes and Villa look to be a pretty decent partnership and will be a big test for us if we have to play them in the semi.

      Still be pleased if Chelsea go out though.

      Utd were lucky tonight, really lucky, if Roma had scored 6 away goals they'd be in the semis now and as for chavski we knew it was in our destiny to meet them...

      Damn I hate these two teams so much!! Ah well it will make it all the more sweeter when we give them a european footballing masterclass in the semis and the final on our way to numero 6!!! ;)

      Must admit though Manure where awesome last night against a shockingly woeful Roma team who probably had theirs minds on the latest recipe of bolognese sauce!!!! :P

      united performance was outstanding, there is nothing more to say..This was no luck, it killed me to write these words but 7-1!! great goals too. Roma looked terrified. Valencia didn't play, and as usual a lucky escape for chelsea. Well, this morning everybody was writting us off on the radio against chelsea (as they did against barcelona), it's up to us now, let's finish the job tonight, kick chelsea out on the semi and win the trophy against united at Athens, then they might just all shut it up all these suppose football specialists..

      I know what you mean hound.if that would be the case, i'm sure we could pull through, but maybe have a bit more action first half. i'm not in the mood for another thriller like '05. i can't live through the halftime heartache.

      Must admit though Manure where awesome last night against a shockingly woeful Roma ......

      Roma were by no means woeful . They have the best defensive record in EUROPE. They played some very threatening and quality football throughout the game believe it or not.

      United would have swept aside ANYONE on THAT particular night and playing THAT particular way. Those games where one team just destroys the other on the day and every single attempted piece of trickery, chancey ball or flick comes off and pays dividends only ever come once in a generation. That's talking as someone who's first game as a 7 year old was at Old Trafford in 1953 and I've seen an shedload of performances over the last 54 years.

      That team performance was IMO, United's finest in Europe during my lifetime.
      Better than our 3-2 defeat of Juve in Turin '99;
      better than our 5-1 destruction of Benfica in Lisbon in 1965 when El Beatle murdered the Portuguese on the night;
      better than the fightback against what was then a superb Bilbao side to score 3 away goals in a 5-3 loss and then win 3-0 in the second leg in 1957;
      and finally, better than the 10-0 walloping of Anderlecht in 1956.

      Bring on AC and let's play football.
