well we have to rotate here to win all those games. carling cup is not important except to showcase some up and coming reserves. some players are due for a rest. think torres is showing strains of burnout, but thisse fixtures will determine if we are title holders this year. if we stumble badly then its over.

I was against fielding a weakened side against Leeds because at the moment I'm desperate for us to win a trophy, but having said that I now think we should be resting Reina, Carra, Gerrard and Torres at least. Hopefully this will be Agger's comeback game. I've got a feeling he'll be partnering that Greek fellow.

I think we can still keep in most first teamers (Yossi, Masch, Lucas, Riera, and possibly Kuyt). I think Aurelio will come in for Insua. Although we have to be careful not to include too many players with minimal match practice.

It's all about finding the right balance. ;)

The right players need resting, the right youngsters/squad players need bringing in at the right times.

It's not an easy job, but Rafa has more than enough experience to be able to deal with a series of matches like this in such a short space of time. I'm sure he'll have been thinking about this since the ficture list was released, not just the last week or two.

Feeling on top of the world atm  ;D  3 out of 3.  Some of our young lads have been playing very well in the ressies.  Would like to see Eccleston, Darby, Ayala and Spearing get a run out against Leeds.

How about resting Torres? Definitely Carra and Skrtel. Try a different defence pairing, Ayala and Kelly because Skrtel and Carra are having to many howlers.

Wouldn't it just be easier for you to discuss the possible line up against Leeds in a prematch thread rather than this one? Since this one is about the congested fixture list and the outcome of it.

I like this idea. We're halfway through this set of fixtures for September. Come on! 3 more wins!

Not only are we winning but we've kept three clean sheets out of the four games, that has to instill confidence.

Well said billy, and considering we're not quite firing on all cylinders yet, we're on the up.  Lot's of positives to take out of the games played so far so confidence must be growing.  Can't really compare tonights perfomance with the EPL ones as the team was so different, but in every game someone has stepped up.  Yossi for player of the month, he has been fantastic.  Nando back on track, he looked pissed off tonight at having to sit back on the bench.  Lucas has got stuck in every game he's played in, and played well.  Even Babel is looking interested.  Stevie's not quite on it, but he's not far off and is always dangerous.  What a player!  Only downside atm is the defence imo and I'm sure that will be sorted.

      4 down and 4 wins, 2 to go.  Let's make it 6  :kop5cf8koxp6:

A win on Saturday will be the best b'day pressie ever  ;D
