      Bottle or Glass drinker
      Jan 19, 2009 05:51:12 pm
I'm just asking do you drink your beer out of a bottle or a glass when you in a pub or club.

I like my beer in a glass, don't like it out of a bottle or a can, its to gassy (is that the right spelling) for me.

If I'm in a pup or club and they give me a bottle or can of beer I will always ask for a glass.

My be I'm getting old, but I don't like seeing women drinking out of bottles, or chewing gum.

      Your thoughts please  ;D

For some reason I like drinking out of bottles, could be because I'm a slow drinker. However, I'm young and this could well change in the near future!

Agree with your point about chewing gum and women though, strange how it is actually kind of offputting.

Depends what it is. Magners needs to be ice and glass. Carlsberg needs to be pint, so does Guinness. I always have American beer from a bottle for some reason

To be honest i don't really care as long as there is a drink in it , sorry except for Strongbow that must be in a pint glass. But must be ice cold with the condensation running down the glass, mmmmm.

Pennent likes his JD from the bottle!!!
I like if from the glass, BUT it has to be a propper glass, the tear drop ones with a stem, I have collected quite a few on my travels, if not, then from the bottle. Always drink propper continental "Beir" not that Scottish & Newcaslte continental rubbish, costs more, but for me I can taste the difference.

To be honest I'm not really big on beer anyway. If it's a bulmers then I'd prefare it cold, that way probably in a glass with ice!

Depends on where I am (pub/club) and what type of boozer I'm in.

don't trust some cu*ts, so if in a club from the bottle, can't get spiked then!

I do agree with you beer out of cans do not taste the same.

But as far as drinking beer out of a bottle, its a no for me, living in a pub for a lot of years, and knowing othere who run pubs, I get to see where they store the bottles, and its not nice, you get mice and rats doing things over the bottles, and if the pub has a cat or dog, well just let say its not nice.

I will stick to my class, thank you.

Don't be too put off bottles,These days 99% of all bottled booze arrives in boxes & not crates !!! Also i think drinking from a bottle could be an age thing.Cos i am a Becks drinker (from the bottle) and being the wrong side of fffiffty bar staff always ask me if i NEED a glass. :lmao:

I do like drinking bottles. They always go down nice and quick. More of a pint drinker myself though.

      Proper drink!

Don't know about your bottles but here the bottles come in a six pack and they all tightly wrapped in plastic or cardboard once they ready for the fridge they get taken out the plastic/cardboard and put into the fridge and besides that there is a bottle cap which you take off and you don't put your whole month over the opening you put your lips to opening where the cap was which will be clean.

Just a heads up in case any one is coming for the world cup next year we don't drink much beer from kegs if a place does have you ask for draught and they will probably have castle or Hansa, if you ask for a beer it will come in a can or bottle, good beers to drink are Millers (US), Amstel (Dutch), Windhoek (Nambia), then local is Black label which has the highest of all the beers in alcohol content 5% per vol, Castle is another local beer, I personally don't like it, its tastes like rusty tap water. Then obviously you get Heineken, Becks, Guinness etc.

      AMSTEL       Lager NRB - 24 x 340ml       R 114.00 = Pounds 7.10 that's the price from a bottle store so its about 30p a beer then from a restaurant it will be between R10 - R20 depending where you go which is  62p - 1.25 Pounds
