http://www.eufootball.biz/Stadia-Facilities/7539-liverpool_working_towards_new_stadium.html"English Liverpool managing director, Christian Purslow, expects the latest deal between the club and Standard Chartered to pave the way to a new stadium.
According to Purslow, the agreement represents a âhuge step forwardâ for Liverpool, marking the largest sponsorship deal in the history of the club.
Standard Chartered agreed to a four-year, GBP 80 million partnership with the club, set to begin next summer and continue through to the end of the 2013-14 season.
Speaking to The Guardian, Purslow indicated that the financial stability provided by Standard Chartered could be just what the club needs to get back on track.
Plans for a 60,000 seat venue in Stanley Park were halted by Liverpool City Council last year due to âglobal market conditions,â leading Purslow to begin establishing positive conditions for the process to flourish.
He went on to note that the partnership is reflective of âtwo highly successful organisationsâ, providing Liverpool with âthe ideal partnerâ to move forward in their global ambitions.
Purslow advised that Standard Chartered operates in a variety of markets featuring a âvast and growing fanbaseâ of Liverpool fans, including Asia, the Middle East, and Africa."
Blah Blah Blah.
