Man Charged Over Gerrard House Burglary

Police have charged a man with burglary and robbery at the home of Liverpool and England footballer Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard's wife Alex Curran, 27, was confronted by four masked raiders at the couple's mansion in Formby, Merseyside, on the evening of December 11, 2007.
She was left shaken but uninjured as the robbers struck while Gerrard, 29, was playing in Liverpool's Champions League tie away to Marseille.

The offenders, who all wore dark clothing, hoods and balaclavas, made off with items of jewellery.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Police have arrested and charged a 22-year-old man from Stockbridge Village, Liverpool, with burglary and robbery following an incident at a house in Formby on December 11, 2007.

"Martin Wilson will appear at North Sefton Magistrates' Court on October 30."

Unless he's a bitters fan, why would someone in Liverpool rob one of Liverpool's best ever player?

It's crazy to me how this kind of thing happens. Over here you rarely hear about this kind of thing hapening. Don't get me wrong. Stupid sh!t happens like kids vandalize a player's lawn or horrible things happen like getting killed, but it seems like it happens consistently over there. I don't get it.

Either way, it's shameful. I agree with you, Kop-Cnut. There is a line.

Smack heads are all over they don't give a sh*t who's house it is the end result for them is a few G's of gear and a week or two of feeling good, and then it's on to the next fund raiser -  if they don't get collared.
It's a fact that the vast majority of crime is drug related the same scenario was played out and continues in the USA and as they say what they do today we do tomorrow, it might be a cynical comment but it always seemed that the establishment used these social maladies to introduce legislation that ultimately benefitted nobody but further empowered the ruling order.
