That's fair enough soft lad, but has Ferguson won 3 European Cups like Sir Bob Paisley? Did Ferguson win the treble in his first season like Sir Joe Fagan? Did Ferguson rebuild a failing second division side into a title winning and European conquering (albeit the UEFA Cup) like Sir Bill Shankly? Did Ferguson ever win the League and FA Cup double as a player-manager like Sir Kenny Dalglish? Has Ferguson ever won both domestic cups in the same year like Sir Gerard Houllier did in 2001? Did Ferguson win the European Cup in his first year in charge like Sir Rafa Benitez? Did Ferguson ever break down in tears because of his love for a club like Sir Roy Evans did when he had to leave?

Ferguson has had a free run while Liverpool went down hill for awhile after Kenny left, and their were not really any other teams to step up. Arsenal came up with a few, but really there was no one to seriously challenge for awhile. Now the challengers are coming from all angles, and we have seen 'Sir' Alex get all antsy and grumpy, because he knows they can't continue with all the teams now engulfing his team. Real 'Sir' material there, shows such noble qualities :

Fact is, there are a bunch of Liverpool legends that deserved it before whiskey nose. And if Giggs got it as well, then well id lose all faith in the knighting system, whatever that may be.
