      5 games in 14 days
      Oct 13, 2009 12:01:39 am
More than a game every three days for the Reds once these internationals are finally over.

17/10/09 - away to Sunderland (League)
20/10/09 - home to Lyon (Europe)
25/10/09 - home to United (League)
28/10/09 - away to Arsenal (Carling Cup)
31/10/09 - away to Fulham (League)

4 difficult games there and one certain win over United ;). Couple of tricky away games in the league, a must win game in Europe and a mouth-watering game with Arsenal in the League Cup. With the games piling up, that Arsenal game could be a life saver.

I'd like to see us really kick on now. Aquilani should shake things up and give the opposition more to worry about - our starting XI will be much harder to predict.

I'd love to see us win all these games.

And I'd like to predict every single one of them right! ;)

Tough period this, I see a win in Lyon and 8 points in the league, so season still in the balance at the end of it.

      Difficult 5 games indeed.

However, winning all 5 isn't impossible. We just have to get our heads right and no more sloppy defending and more clinical finishing. We need to win the 3 league games , which we are capable of and that European game against Lyon.

I wouldn't be too disheartened if we lost to Arsenal in the league cup. It's a trophy nonetheless but my priority is the Premier League.

I'm sure Rafa won't do a berkie and underestimate Sunderland.  Depends on who we get back in a playable state from the internationals as to who he will play.  Hopefully Dagger will be fitter as Denmark are playing him.  Hope Nando and Stevie come back right now.  We might have to miss Dirk though, he got a knock apparently - in Australia of all places to go to during the season for a F***ing friendly.

It will be a dream come true if Aquilani can come in and just gel with everyone, he looks such a quality player, I can't wait to see him.  But, after reading other posts on here, I agree, he may need a few games to get up to speed.  He's not played for a long time, the EPL is a very different game to Seria A and all that, whatever, I'm still excited about him.

Lyon, a bit nervous about this one.  We've been poor in the European games so far.  Big turnaround needed.   Another 8-0 maybe :D  Here's hoping!  I'd take a 1-0 tbh.

The mancs, bring them F***ing on.  Beat the sh*t out of them and they can eff off back down the East Lancs Road to their old shitty bog.

The Arse.  We owe those fuckers for that 3-6.  Let's just have em.

Fulham away, another tricky one but do-able.

Well we had that big run of games before this one and now this international break is almost over, we are heading into yet another big run of important matches. And more than ever, this will really be a defining time in our season. A crucial match in europe as has been noted, and then the match against none other than our fiercest rivals. THAT match is one i have been looking forward to since i saw the bas**rds lift the cup back in May. And when i sit their wearing my Gerrard jersey, i will be unflinchingly baying for manure blood to spill on that Anfield turf. And more than any other, the result of that match will set the tone for the rest of the season. I can't wait!

When you break the games down into 5 and 6 game lots like this it just shows that at this level there really is no easy game.

My kind of maths. Still, if we win all our remaining games we'll have, erm, 174 points. Won't we?

Could they have given us an easier fixture list :P.

some of those teams (Utd especially) will be bleeding when we're done with them.

5 wins, yes, but easy??? Lyon can be tricky in the CL, but then again they dont have Benzema this season, and as far as im aware they havent played at Anfield yet have they????

Very tricky period ahead, with our erratic defence, important not to lose any more ground in the Premiership and need a result in the CL.

If we can put together another succession of results as we did in the last period and come away with similar results I would not be too disheartened, Obviously I'd swop a loss in the Champions league against Lyon for a loss against Arsenal in the coca cola cup as it's immaterial and if we could win all the league Games I'd be a very happy chappy.

Come on the Red Men lets have maximum points and go for the jugualr and show these lot what were all about :)
